"A r****t LeBron James poster sparked an investigation in a New York school district earlier this week.

The poster featuring the Los Angeles Lakers star was shown at the New Hartford Festival of the Arts and was created by a student in a junior high art class in the New Hartford Central School District, according to WIBX.
The poster was meant to be a part of a fictional cereal box for "Monkey Premium Cereal." The tagline read, "Eat Monkeys, Jump Like Monkeys!" At the bottom the poster read, "Jump like LeBron James" along with a picture of the Lakers star dunking.

The display was featured at the arts show on Saturday [5/4/24] according to the paper. It immediately went v***l as photos appeared online."

The most r****t statement I ever heard came from Bennie Thompson, Grand Inquisitor of the J****** 6 C*******e. It was never mentioned in the media.

I was working in The Delta Health Center in Greenville, Mississippi and we went to an anniversary celebration at the parent clinic in Mound Bayou. It was founded under Lyndon B. Johnson's War on Poverty to bring affordable health care to the medically indigent across the country. The featured speaker was none other than the Honorable Bennie Thompson. During his address he said that it was 'important that we get medical care from people who look like us.'

What difference does it matter what the care provider looks like? And doesn't Christian Scripture say that we're all created in the likeness of God?

I took that statement to be an insult to my integrity as a physician. I am sure that I have failed in providing perfect care to everyone but I don't think I've ever done less than my best based on skin color.

The local NBC affiliate had its cameras there and the newspapers had their reporters there but there was no mention of it in the newscasts and broadcast media.

And I am sure NotMAGA, that this doesn't bother you in the least nor does it matter to any of the other self-righteous liberal blowhards of OPP.

And to NotMAGA and all those other OPP liberals, please take this as a challenge to respond![/quote]

So a black man said that
it was 'important that we get medical care from people who look like us' and your takeaway "as a physician" is to feel your integrity was being insulted?

If you really are a physician then you should be familiar with the stats comparing outcomes between black, white and brown for the same conditions at the various hospitals across the country.

Feel insulted if you like. But think about why Rep. Thompson made that statement and ask yourself whether you believe in your heart it was 1) aimed at you personally (obviously not, I hope you agree) 2) white doctors in general (I can't read his mind but I also believe this answer to be a "no' or 3) his understanding that there are diseases and conditions, such as pre-eclampsia, strokes, & heart attacks that are much more prevalent among the black community have a better chance of being caught by people IN that community who understand this at a deep level.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Physician, heal thyself.

Most people don't choose where to be born. 😅 If we care about aging parents we don't leave them behind to fend for themselves.

An email from the National Committee to Preserve Social Security & Medicare (with my comments added in brackets):

During a recent congressional hearing, Senator Tommy Tuberville (AL) railed against Social Security saying, “This is all a s**m.” He went onto claim that, “We don’t have any of your money. We’re dead broke.”
[You might remember Tubberville as the football coach Alabamians elected because... You all might understand why better than I].

But he didn’t stop there … Senator Tuberville also tried to make the case for privatizing Social Security, which would benefit Wall Street brokers and subject your earned benefits to the volatility of the Stock Market. [Because Coach Tuberville suddenly understands the implications of privatizing SS... Not so much I'm thinking. Probably no better than he understood what happens when all military officer promotions are held up for on the top on down].

The t***h is Social Security is not going bankrupt. Some politicians and opponents of Social Security just want you to believe it is. Saying that this program is a s**m and that it’s in imminent danger of financial collapse is a scare tactic, pure and simple — and false justification to cut benefits and privatize this successful and popular government program.

Senator Tuberville seems to be picking up the same talking points of former President Donald Trump who once called Social Security a “Ponzi scheme.” And his comments demonstrate just how out of touch some lawmakers are when it comes to the benefits that retirees like you have paid into and earned during a lifetime of hard work — and that you are counting on for a secure retirement.

According to the latest Social Security Trustees Report, Social Security is able to pay full benefits through 2035, after which the program will still pay about 80% of benefits. To avert the projected 20% cut in benefits in 2035 and ensure the success of Social Security for years to come, there are reasonable, modest adjustments that can be made.

That’s why the National Committee supports the immediate passage of the "Social Security 2100 Act" (H.R. 4583/S. 2280), a landmark bill that would provide an across-the-board benefit increase for all beneficiaries and strengthen Social Security’s solvency by making the wealthy pay their fair share into the program.

Bottom line, radical changes, including privatization, are not necessary to “save” Social Security. Indeed, proposals to privatize Social Security would deeply undermine the program’s long-term health, and most Americans have flatly opposed this dangerous idea. However, Senator Tuberville and other lawmakers in Washington continue to push harmful changes to pay down deficits this program didn’t cause in the first place.

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
President & CEO

Is this all you have to be upset about today?
Tell you what. Focus your energy on positive things for today. Go put a dryer sheet in your mailbox to keep the bugs out. Mow the grass. Make a man a sandwich. Iron some clothes. Clean a toilet. Vacuum the carpet. Mop the floors. Take a long walk to lose some weight, and benefit your health.

I think it's clever, and funny myself.
Come up with an imaginary name for a white redneck cereal, and see where that goes. But, that isn't r****t, or offensive, is it?
My apologies for not providing the validation of your point of view that you so desperately seek.
I have more pressing issues to worry about.
