The responses to the Salon article reinforce the premises that it makes. Those in opposition defend their positions with emotional responses that rely on trashing people whose beliefs are different than theirs: not on FACTS.
The Iraq invasion was a mistake; Afganistan, although more in line with attacking those responsible hasn't been successfully invaded since Alexander The Great.
YES, like poor California with ONLY $6 billion in surplus.
Christians are followers of the teachings of Jesus: He said at the stoning "let him who is without sin cast the first stone." That tells me judgment should be left to the Lord.
Thrice married, twice divorced, alleged adulterer, alleged anti-black, anti-latino: YES h**e these sins and love the sinner
Some of the new drugs have more side effects than benefits!
So far Trump has tried to be true to his promises: I sincerely hope he effectively takes on the pharmaceutical industry. It has been out of control since George W. Bush caved on the doughnut hole he acceded to when the Medicare part D was implemented.
Elizabeth, you hit the nail right on the head. Our 2nd amendment gives us the right to bear arms: that does NOT mean that we need to stand by and be slaughtered by someone who's got emotional or mental problems. As to immigrants; I lived 12 miles from the Mexican border for nearly 20 years: my dad was an Immigration officer. As the big city in that area was on the Mexican side, I lived in an international area. I agree that security should be stringent, but I don't think a wall is the answer: it won't stop the problem and destroy the communities that have developed in these areas.
Trump is in office the people referred to are no longer; one is termed out: the other is unlikely to run again.
I guess the problem is that d**gging up people that are no longer in office and are no longer running for office are the only people that can easily be denigrated: perhaps the new response is the only path these people can take is moaning about history
That just shows that these people are cowardly or in many cases don't care because many of them end their own lives after the cowardly deed.
RIGHT ON KEVIN! My nephew is a native Texan, a pro-gun 2nd amendment supporter who has sense enough to know that mentally unstable folks need to be carefully screened so that they don't massacre innocent people like those church-going people in south Texas, and those kids in Florida.
The religious right has an equal right to practice their religion as do those whose religious principles differ from them. But they have to allow those differing in their religious beliefs to practice their beliefs. This is a core element in our Constitution.
