Trump is clearly guilty of committing a crime. The question is, what do we do about it.

The question is, what happens next:

First, is this an impeachable offense. I think Alexander Hamilton thought so when he argued for adding the impeachment clause to the constitution. Many Republicans have determined that it is a reprehensible act, but does not reach the limit for impeachment. That is the debatable question. And your thoughts are?

Second, if you think it is an impeachable offense, it is most likely the Senate will not find him guilty. Whst kind of message will that send to the country?

Third, if Trump is not found guilty by the Senate, what does that mean for the future? Eventually, a Democrat will get elected to office, and if they do the same as Trump did, how will you like it then?

I'm my humble opinion, on principle Trump has to be impeached to set the low bar of what is not allowed. Fiona Hill's testimony was quite moving when she described what Russian involvement is in the US e******ns, to destroy our confidence in our e******n systems. No matter what happens, this will dramatically impact our future e******ns.

In my opinion, Trump will be impeached by the House, and found not guilty in the Senate. Think about what this will do to our country. How do we move forward?

In a moment reminiscent of her husband’s 2008 narcissistic claim that his clinching the nomination for the presidency was the moment when “the rise of the oceans began to slow and the planet began to heal,” former First Lady Michelle Obama, speaking at the Obama Foundation Summit at the Illinois Institute of Technology, posited that people all over the world feel that Barack Obama is their president.

Michelle Obama stated: "Barack’s p**********l library could have been anywhere in the world because there are so many people who feel like he is their president all over the world. New York wanted it; Hawaii wants it; because it’s also an economic engine because it will be a visited p**********l library. Because it’s going to be a live, It’s a first. So we had to think of where will we put this resource, because it will be a resource."

Perhaps Michelle Obama might want to check with the people of Poland. In 2009, Obama canceled an anti-ballistic missile system. In 2012, President Bronislaw Komorowski slammed Obama saying, "Our mistake was that by accepting the American offer of a shield we failed to take into account the political risk associated with a change of president. We paid a high political price. We do not want to make the same mistake again. We must have a missile system as an element of our defenses." The Telegraph noted, "Mr. Obama’s decision to scrap George W Bush’s original missile shield dismayed the Polish government, especially as many Poles saw it as an attempt to appease Russia, Poland’s historical and Cold War foe."

Or Michelle Obama could ask the people of Israel, who watched during the 2014 Gaza War against the terrorist group Hamas as Obama suspended a shipment of Hellfire missiles to Israel, endangering Israel, which was under siege from rocket attacks. Or the people of Israel could remember Barack Obama ignoring the numerous murderous terrorist attacks launched in Israel by Palestinian Arabs, saying as a p**********l candidate in 2008: "This is the moment when we must defeat terror and dry up the well of extremism that supports it. This threat is real and we cannot shrink from our responsibility to combat it. If we could create NATO to face down the Soviet Union, we can join in a new and global partnership to dismantle the networks that have struck in Madrid and Amman; in London and Bali; in Washington and New York.” Obama didn’t mention Israel.

Or Michelle Obama could ask the people of Crimea, who watched as Russia’s Vladmir Putin launched an annexation of Crimea in 2014 and Obama’s White House weakly protested, calling it a “breach of international law.” As The Wall Street Journal mocked Obama in an op-ed, “That will have the Kremlin quaking.” The Journal added, “The only concrete U.S. action was to suspend participation in pr********ns for June’s G-8 summit in Sochi.” The Journal concluded, “The Ukrainians can’t be left alone to face Russia, and the Kremlin’s annexation of Crimea can’t be allowed to stand.”

Or Michelle Obama could ask the people of Syria, who watched after Syrian president Bashar al-Assad allegedly launched a Sarin nerve gas attack that “k**led more than 1,000 people, hundreds of them children,” as The Guardian reported, and Obama, who had insisted that use of chemical weapons would be crossing a “red line,” announced the U.S. would not attack the Assad regime.

Do you see a pattern here?

In the 2020 e******n, the whole thing will boil down to the WWE vs. PBS.
Let me explain ...

The WWE is based on pure raw emotion … you root for the good guy and boo the villain. It has nothing to do with logic, merely the posturing of the wrestlers and their assumed personas that motivates people to get involved. They boast, brag, tell lies about their opponents, and use dirty tactics when they think the ref isn't looking. The fans are usually working class stiffs taking out their aggression and emotional vindictiveness in a public setting rather than the confines of their home.

PBS, on the other hand, provides programming that requires thinking and analysis, and draws a totally different clientele. They take into account all the facts and make up their mind based on them, rather than any emotional attachment for the issue or candidate.

The two camps couldn't be farther apart ... and they are the two camps that will be competing for v**es in the 2020 e******n.

The Democrats are proposing programs and ideas to promote the growth of the country and benefit a large part of the population. Their ideas may not be finalized, but they are proposing solutions to perceived problems.
The Republicans are on track to increase the wealth gap, completely close the borders to any immigration whatsoever, cause 20 million people to lose their health insurance, and force the L***Q community back into the closet behind last year's shoes.

This is what the e******n boils down to … a cult of personality around one person who is primarily an entertainer, serial liar and master manipulator versus someone that will try to heal the wounds that have already occurred to our nation both internally and in the realm of foreign policy.

The outcome can probably be forecast already … emotional appeal always wins when pitted against intellectual brainpower. In a contest of brawn versus brainpower, brawn always wins.

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS Muslim students “demand” mandatory ‘Islamophobia’ training & more Palestinian faculty or they will force the chancellor to resign

Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) sent out a list of demands in October after meeting with various chancellors in response to a mass email from the school suggesting that an SJP presentation was anti-Semitic.

Campus Reform“Concerns were raised about a recent presentation with anti-Semitic content at a staff development program by a Housing student-worker,” reads the email from UIUC Chancellor Robert Jones, obtained by Campus Reform. Jones was referencing a presentation given to a full-time staff member and 11 other student-employees.
After describing this and a swastika allegedly found in a campus building, the chancellor announced that full-time housing staff, multicultural advocates, and resident advisors would be required to complete anti-Semitism training.
In response, the SJP released a list of demands, calling for, among other items, a new mass email making a distinction between anti-Z*****m and anti-Semitism, a clarification in the email that the referenced student presentation did not feature anti-Semitism, the hiring of additional Palestinian faculty, and the requirement for housing personnel to be educated on “Islamophobia, anti-Blackness, q***rphobia, and other forms of r****m/bias.”

SJP asked the university to denounce a perceived link between N**i symbols with Palestinian-related content.
According to SJP, “failure to comply with the demands above will result in students’ demand for the resignation of Chancellor Robert Jones from his office.”

Jewish Journal The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) Student Senate passed a resolution denying a link between anti-Z*****m and anti-Semitism on Oct. 23, causing more than 400 Jewish students to walk out of the meeting in protest.
Fox Illinois reports that the resolution passed with 29 v**es in favor, four against and four abstaining. The resolution states that the Oxford English dictionary defines Z*****m as “the assured settlement of [Jewish people’s] race upon a national basis in Palestine” and condemns “the constant conflation of Anti-Z*****m and Anti-Semitism.”
Student Lauren Nesher added that the resolution’s passage shows that student leaders believe “that Jews on this campus do not have the right to define” anti-Semitism. “We will not negotiate anti-Semitism,” Nesher said. “We will not negotiate our safety. We will not negotiate our fear. We will not negotiate our homeland. We will not negotiate anti-Semitism.”

It has been proven time and time again that these types of demands will never end and will only increase in their intensity. There’s only one option … If you do not STAND YOUR GROUND then you’ll be overrun.

As a general rule, I stand on a live and let live principle. I am agnostic but have always supported the individual's right to believe and act according to their own religious dogmas. I freely admit to not knowing "the T***H" but am sincerely interested in finding it... if that is possible. I honestly wonder if human civilization could survive without religion.

It is i***ts like Stephen Mattson (the author of that drivel you posted) that push me in the direction of condemning religious purveyors and what they are selling. He condemns using Christianity as a political prop and then produces the blatantly political tripe above.

I don't have access to my Biblical materials at this moment but I'll bet when I do, I can find some of the harshest condemnations in the Bible directed at hypocrisy... starting with the Pharisee's prayer.

And to clarify, I'm not talking about Christianity because there is nothing Christian about our Christian Nationalists. I just wanted to make that clear before Blade Runner blamed me for hating Christianity. I don't, simply the version practiced by him and his ilk...

Tens of millions of Americans — and most of its elected leaders — claim to be Christian, and yet we're a country that's completely broken.

This is the state of our “Christian” nation: Our government isn't working, and when it does it’s on behalf of behemoth corporations and influential lobbyists. Elected officials are openly r****t, sexist, and xenophobic — without consequence. Police continue to k**l people of color and jails have become a modernized form of s***ery. The military is mired in endless violence throughout the world, participating in wars far beyond the interests of our citizenry, and defense contractors reap the profits. Teachers are underpaid, schools underfunded, and students underfed, but our president wants to spend billions on a wall he promised our country would never have to pay for.

Despite mass shootings that have k**led innocent lives, politicians have represented corporate interests at the expense of public safety, and though w***e A******n males are the predominant facilitators of these heinous crimes, partisan rhetoric — in spite of data, factual research, and t***h itself — insists that immigrants, refugees, and “foreigners” are the real culprits.

American Christianity brought us to this point. It preached nationalism and sanctified American imperialism — promoting Manifest Destiny as ordained by God. The prosperity gospel baptized capitalistic greed, its preachers vilified the poor, and its theologians manipulated scripture to rationalize global colonialism. Salvation was no longer personified through Jesus, but was redesigned to be a political machine, fueled by its ability to control branches of government. This methodology was packaged as “Christianity,” and the gospel became a message of gaining social power and control rather than a call to follow Jesus’ life of selfless service and sacrifice.

The American church fell into the same failings as the Pharisees of old: obsessed with their holy scripture while completely ignoring the loving God it was intended to direct them to. Instead of focusing on Jesus, it propped itself up as its own deity — ruling, controlling, and judging according to loveless and legalistic doctrines. To protect and maintain this self-serving religion, populist propaganda related to a******n, gun control, patriotism, economic uncertainty, crime, and terrorism are used as dog-whistles to fearfully manipulate Christians away from Jesus’ message of love towards one of exclusion.

This isn’t new. The origins of Christianity in American are stained with genocide and ens***ement. White Christendom’s legacy is one of moral failure and intentional evil, consistently being on the wrong side of history. But by refusing to acknowledge its past or educate current parishioners, the white church has attempted to minimize its role. With few exceptions, its built up a self-immunity to guilt, awareness, and dialogue, and any such attempt to confront its past and present failings is dismissed as “radical liberalism,” “progressive partisan rhetoric,” or “cynical complaining.” The pain and trauma caused by all of this cannot be overstated, yet w***e A******n Christianity relies on apathy, avoidance, and outright denial in its efforts to preserve its self-righteousness.

When their privileged status quo was recently threatened by the e******n of a black president, the rise of new civil rights movements, and the empowerment of traditionally maligned segments of society, a massive culture war pitted weakening religious factions against populations they no longer “controlled.” Politically, many white Christians rallied around a man who personifies the American Idol of Nationalism, Populism, and Greed, and they enthusiastically preferred the rallying cry of “Make America Great Again” over the wisdom of “loving your neighbor as yourself.”

So when L***Q individuals, people of color, immigrants, refugees, “foreigners,” Muslims, and others faced societal injustices, the white church not only was largely absent from defending them, but it was complicit to their persecution. Instead, it was secular institutions and organizations that fought for equal rights and empowerment, doing unto others what the church didn’t.

To maintain their economic, political, and social majority of white Christian nationalism, moral arguments and “biblical t***h” once used to bash previous political opponents no longer applied. T***h is now relative, and God is used as a religious construct to push partisan agendas—no matter how anti-Christian they are. To appear spiritually legitimate, a few church leaders and pastors would be required to support this charade, and to promote their own carnal desires and quell their worldly fears, to placate their parishioners and pander to their desires, this is exactly what many Christians did — and they continue to do so.

The crises we’re currently facing was directly created by —and for the benefit of — the w***e A******n church. It’s lost the right to pander moral clichés or offer spiritual platitudes to problems it produced, even though it will inevitably continue to do so.

This isn’t a plea to return to the church or give “Christianity” another chance, this is a call to confront the broken system that is Colonial Christianity. Violent, abusive, r****t, xenophobic, sexist, h********c, ignorant, corrupt, and legalistic, it looks nothing like Christ.

In the face of such injustices, Jesus became furious and overturned tables. He drove out the moneychangers and condemned the spiritual leaders of his day. We must now do the same, and drive out the many forms of “Christianity” that are oppressive and loveless.


If you can’t fight these forms of destructive “Christianity,” run. Flee from cross-laden buildings that excrete sexism, escape from cultish partisan rhetoric that spews r****m and fosters xenophobia, and free yourself from bigoted communities that espouse h**e.

If Christianity would rather build a wall to exclude migrants and asylum seekers instead of lovingly accept them, ditch it and don’t look back. If Christian leaders would rather deport their neighbors rather than generously accept them, have nothing to do with them. Because this is what following Christ is: “to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world” (James 1:27), and to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” and to “Love your neighbor as yourself (Matt. 22:36-40).” So for the love of God and others, give up on Trump and start following Jesus — and abandon any form of Christianity that refuses to do so.
