"There are 128,961 public and private K-12 schools in the U.S., according to 2019-20 data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)"

3362 ('22-'23, 2532 in '21-'22) book bans cited by P.E.N. sounds like a lot, until you take into account how many schools are out there - but wait - there's more!!!

https://www.heritage.org/education/commentary/parents-objecting-pornographic-material-school-libraries-arent-book-banners

Note: This information was researched after P.E.N posted their '21-'22 data

"The entire conversation on “book banning” has taken place under a false definition promulgated by PEN America, a left-wing advocacy group that purports to monitor an unprecedented spike in “bans.” But it defines “ban” so expansively as to render that term meaningless.
- If a book has been temporarily removed, reviewed and then returned to the shelves, it has been banned, according to PEN.
- If a school places a parental permission requirement on a book, it has been banned, according to PEN.
- If a school moves a book to a guidance counselor’s office, it has been banned, according to PEN.
We conducted a study to determine how many of the 2,532 books that PEN America alleged were banned were actually still present in school libraries. The answer: About three-fourths of them.

The media has fabricated the narrative that book bans are about race. We found that while some parents have certainly objected to books about race, school districts seldom oblige that objection. For example, PEN America listed the Black L***s M****r-inspired “The H**e U Give” as the fifth most banned book. We found it available in every single school library in question.

The media has also fabricated the narrative that book bans are about L***Q identity. But, as The Washington Post documented, only 7% of parental objections included “L***Q” without also including the word “sexual.”

All 10 of the books we found that were actually removed most often contained disturbingly explicit passages about sex. Take, for example, the most-banned “G****r Q***r.” That graphic novel features a picture of oral sex being performed on a sex toy. It also contains an X-rated passage.

Lest you think we’re cherry-picking, consider the other top 10 most-removed books.
- “This Book Is Gay” provides a how-to guide to find strangers for sex on gay sex apps.
- “Out of Darkness” contains a rape.
- “l8r g8r” (Later Gator) contains discussions of oral sex.
- “All Boys Aren’t Blue” contains underage incest.
- “It’s Perfectly Normal” contains drawings of children masturbating.
- “Lawn Boy” contains a passage about 10-year-old boys performing oral sex on each other.
- “Jack of Hearts” talks about a condom that is “covered in s—-.”
- “Crank” details a meth-fueled rape.
- “Lucky” also details a rape.
- “A Court of Mist and Fury,” tame by comparison, contains an extremely explicit sexual passage.

The true significance of so-called book bans is not some resurgent r****t or f*****t impulse exhibited by a faction of American parents. It’s the profound moral disconnect between the 90% of Americans who believe that sexually obscene material does not belong in school libraries and an education establishment broadly convinced that it’s good, necessary and “inclusive” to show children explicit images of sexual acts."

That last part is considered g***ming and most Americans will not tolerate it. So, my friend, this is what I think about your "pile 'o facts".

Marine Veteran Ordered To Surrender ALL Firearms For Sick Reason- It’s HAPPENING

Posted by DINO PORRAZZO at AMERICAS FREEDOM FIGHTERS

A judge in the state of Michigan has taken “black robe fever” to a whole new level letting a Marine and his wife know that they must either surrender their second amendment rights or surrender their grandson.

When the state of Michigan asked William and Jill Johnson, a retired Marine and his tackle shop-owning wife, to be foster parents to their grandson they readily agreed. The alternative was for him to go to foster care and they agreed that was no alternative at all.

However, the Johnsons received a shock during the course of filing the necessary paperwork for placing their grandson in their custody. A local judge gave them the warning that they no longer had all of their constitutional rights.

According to a complaint filed with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan –

“We know we are violating numerous constitutional rights here, but if you do not comply, we will remove the boy from your home.”
Now a case has been filed on behalf of the Johnsons as well as another couple – Brian and Naomi Mason by the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF). They name as defendant Nick Lyon – the director of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

The complaint cites the agency’s draconian rules where foster and adoptive parents must surrender Constitutional rights and their possession of firearms or surrender their children. It alleges multiple civil rights as well as constitutional violations for enforcing restrictions on the Second Amendment rights of people who want to be foster or adoptive parents.”

The rule was first introduced to the Johnsons by social workers, who said, “If you want to care for your grandson, you will have to give up some of your constitutional rights.” When Mr. Johnson questioned them about their agenda, the social workers simply stated: “there would not be a power struggle, that they would just take his grandson and place him in a foster home.”

The complaint states –

“The Johnsons would possess and bear loaded and functional firearms for self-defense and defense of family, but refrain from doing so because they fear their foster child/grandchild being taken away from them by the state.”

SAF founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb said the statements from the caseworker and judge “are simply outrageous.”

“This amounts to coercion, with a child as their bartering chip. I cannot recall ever hearing anything so offensive and egregious, and we’ve handled cases like this in the past. Blatantly telling someone they must give up their civil rights in order to care for their own grandchild is simply beyond the pale.”

The lawsuit asserts that “the policy of the MDHHS, by implementing requirements and restrictions that are actually functional bans on the bearing of firearms for self-defense, both in and out of the home, completely prohibits foster and adoptive parents, and those who would be foster or adoptive parents, from the possession and bearing of readily-available firearms for the purpose of self-defense. This violates plaintiffs’ constitutional rights under the Second and Fourteenth Amendments.”

Gottlieb believes “This is a case we simply must pursue. State agencies and the people who work in those agencies simply cannot be allowed to disregard someone’s civil rights.”

In a similar case in Illinois, the state also demanded that the Constitutional rights of foster or adoptive parents be set aside. In the case of the Shults family, Colleen Shults works as a nurse at Danville Correctional Center under the state Department of Corrections. Some months prior, she received a letter from her employer’s Central Intelligence Unit “that prisoners in the IDOC system were using people locator websites on the Internet to learn the home addresses of IDOC staff, including correctional officers and nurses.”

A letter warned Colleen and her counterparts to be careful and diligent for their safety. Common sense would determine that one would possess a firearm for self-defense, except since the Shults family had also been providing foster care for the state for many years, the policy of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services suspends their Second Amendment rights.

As a result, SAF filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Shultses.

The complaint stated –

“The Shultses would possess loaded and functional firearms for self-defense and defense of family, but refrain from doing so because they fear their foster children being taken away from them by the state, and/or being prohibited from being foster parents in the future, all due to the IDCFS policy complained of herein.”

SAF also brought a previous suit against Chicago over its handgun ban and later against the state over its restrictions on concealed carry. It won both cases.

According to Gottlieb –

“It was our legal action against Chicago’s handgun ban that incorporated the Second Amendment to the states via the Fourteenth Amendment. It was another of our lawsuits that forced the state legislature to adopt a concealed carry statute in Illinois. Now we’re in court to make sure that the state cannot discriminate against foster parents who merely wish to exercise the rights we’ve restored in Illinois.”

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

For anyone who thinks that they still have a 2nd amendment like the founders intended, this should snap you back to reality. Those who would control you, but fear your right and ability to defend yourself have been eating away at the 2nd amendment like termites on a load bearing wall. They've found ways to do so without directly coming after the 2nd. Red f**g laws come to mind as well. If an elected representative or judge show in any way that they are for "common sense gun control", YOU DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR V**E! Simple.

ANYONE who does horrific things, wh**ever the reason deserves to face justice. The problem is that 90% of the people living in Gaza are NOT Hamas. And they're paying the price for being in the wrong place. I don't agree with much of what the average Palestinian believes, but most don't deserve what's happening to them any more than Hamas's victims did.

This is not cut and dried. On the one hand, I decry the death of any child - whether it be by direct contact (Hamas), bombing (Israel), or in the womb (Planned Parenthood). Israel's treatment of the denizens of Gaza has been heavy handed and brutal for a long time. That Hamas has retaliated isn't in itself surprising. That said, something doesn't smell right, and people who should know are calling out the security breakdowns that allowed this to happen as being somehow manipulated. And isn't it amazing that just when the general populace of the US has lost its desire to fund Ukraine - this happens - and now Biden wants to shovel money & weapons to Israel AND Ukraine. My opinion, for what it's worth, is that shadowy figures behind the scenes are orchestrating all of this, and they know that headlines like this one from Faux News will cause most people to react before thinking critically. For now, I will condemn the violence on both sides, but I think we'd be wise to hold on to our emotions and see how this plays out.

I found it because you tweaked that NL nerve and I had to go see if the WWW had a repository. And it does! You can view or download the .pdf files. Top of the list was the 1964 Yearbook parody. I've still got my hard copy of that somewhere. Many issues here as well. The visual quality isn't great for some, but the text is readable.

This one has a dozen mags you can view (better quality) right there. The first one is the (in)famous "If You Don't Buy This Magazine, We'll K**l This Dog!

Nearly ALL the issues and decently viewable.
There are many more sources. God I love the internet (when it doesn't suck by shutting down conservative viewpoints 'n' stuff).
I'm sure I'll waste at least a few evenings going through some of it. So thank you for that!
