That would be Slatten49. You can go to the Home page (see above right before Political Newsletter) you can normally find him as a contributor. Just click on him and you can find his threads or send a PM (Private Message). If he is not listed, from "Home" you can enter a search for him. Good Luck

You are being redundant. You made the exact comments earlier, so they do not merit more of my time or effort. However, if you read any of my replies and wish to discuss our differences or you have a more scholar understanding of the Constitution, by all means you will have my attention. But, if you persist in regurgitating the some words over and over as a child repeats a rehearsed school lesson, then you will not get a response..

I never though of that. Thank you. When I visit I always bring something....especially for the heads of the house and the children. Food is always shared, flowers for the woman of the house and after lots of hugging, we settle into talking or just listening. I love to just listen. Many times I have to dry my eyes from laughing too hard. It is always sad to say good by. I think he knows how much I care for him and his family, but I never thought that not asking for to deny him. I will make amends. Thanks again.

Thank you! I would ask my friend, but I do not want him to feel he has to find a place, which would be how he and I think of each other. I once made the mistake of admiring a band he wore, and he insisted that I take it. So, I vowed that I would not put him in a spot like that again. We too bring gifts to the Rabbi when visiting, so bringing a desert and tobacco would not be hard to remember. I will start my search tonight. Thank you. Perhaps when you are listening; tell God that I appreciate him putting you in my path to guide me now that I am searching for answers and His voice.

There is something endearing about tribal people, they are, well ,,,,, lovable,,,, but they can also be very backward,,,
All part of the package... my family is northern Cheyenne and we live on the Sioux Reservations,,,, but not all...
Vehoe is slang for a white man, if a full blood Cheyenne was to call a white guy the N-word,,,, that is my name... cause my great great granny married an irish guy,, see Indians have r****m and predjudice too,,,,people are people you know

I recognized the tag (being a linguist) it was not difficult to figure out. I found it somewhat amusing, until I read your comment in another thread about the origin. Yes, Indians are just humans with the flaws we all have. I am not without my prejudices; but it is not a group of individuals but the actions of a few. I do love my friends, those that live on the reservations and those that live in the "white" world. Few of them become tainted or jaded with attitudes of hatred. As a Jewish woman, I also understand tribal thoughts and ways.

Interesting. I have always wanted to experience a sweat lodge, I would like to understand why I am here. But, I do not hear a voice when I pray; but I do not ask for anything for myself, I pray for people who are sick, I pray for peace and love, and I give thanks. I have had a very good life, have gone through lean times because I was too proud to ask my family for help. I know, p***e is not a good thing. But, I was taught to try to do it on my own and if I failed I always had family to help out. If is by the grace of God that I never had to ask. When I am still, that is every morning as I meditate, I feel peace and love; but no voice.

I was aware of your heritage and being a Cheyenne, from an earlier comment on a thread. It was your comment "It is bizarre,,,, I wish you could sit and discuss it with us,,Islam IS Christianity,,," that led me to believe that you had been converted. My error. I have a very good friend, living in Oklahoma that is Cheyenne. Due to our friendship, I learned much about the belief system and tribe philosophies; when introduced to his family, they gained my immediate trust and love. That was many years ago, we are still friends and I sponsored his son and daughter at Virginia Tech. He and his family were my family, they still attend our annual family reunions.

I have mixed emotions. Forgiveness is required of us, vengeance is for God. Agreed. I can not give pain for pain, and I find that not many people can make me angry. I do have strong emotions about 911, having been in the Pentagon on that date; and no I do not wish to revisit my experience. I was in the military and would have k**led, I would not have enjoyed it, but I would defend the US and those fighting alongside of me, even if it meant my death. I am a vegan, so I find it hard to even see dead meat. Do not get me wrong, I do not judge anyone else. That too is not my place.

So, you are a Muslim. I can only say that the Muslim faith is not from my understanding a peaceful religion. I can only tell you about my faith, what I have read and studied. Perhaps you will be the person to shed a better light on that religion.

As I said, I am not a Bible scholar so I can not say with complete certainty what the Christ made as his number one complaint. Please do not misunderstand, I believe in the Christ as a son of God, I believe that he was sent to show everyone the right way. I can speak on the Torah. Within my faith, p********as are cast out, they are publically ridiculed in the Synagogue, stripped of both religion and family. They become a nonJew and there are no prayers or forgiveness and further they can not hold any offices. There are of course other laws that addressed character, standards of living, behavior toward animals and so on. But, better leave that discussion for another time.

4. Those traveling by water are NOT to be trusted, they are mostly full of ship.

I suppose it depends on what they do with the proceeds of the sales. Why have they hoarded these things anyway. If they want to do good, they should use this to reduce poverty in the worst parts of the world. Poverty and suppression of people are the festering boils of society. Use the money for doing good, and not enhancing the property of the Vatican. Then they will be doing good in the world.

Larry, you restated my point and thank you. Your writing style is better than mine, as you can paint pictures with your words. I admire your style!

I am not sure we disagree
But it also tells us in the Bible to stone homos,,... (show quote)

I am sure, only because you speak highly of him, that he is a good person. I admit that I am not a Bible scholar in particular of the new testament. I do know the teaching in the Torah. The Torah does not teach h**e or murder (one of the reasons that Jews did not fight back when hauled off to concentration and death houses). Yes, there are many mentions of wars and battles recounted from prophets, but that information is not "rule" but history. The rules are basically the same that are recounted in the 10 Commandments. I know that you can recite all ten, so do not be offended, I am listing them for generalized understanding of other people who may be reading this post.

Exodus 20 as given to the Children of Israel at Mount Sinai

And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
1.Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2.Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that h**e me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
3.Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
4.Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
5.Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
6.Thou shalt not k**l.
7.Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8.Thou shalt not steal.
9.Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
10.Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.

I agree that religion is not the problem. People who interrupt the writing from old are the problem. So, I figure you and I agree on this matter.
