I believe you have made this point on several occasions. So, why is it that each time a question or comment on religion is posted, you are one of the first posters to comment? If one does not believe, then would they not just keep on moving along to find a subject that they can add serious consideration. What you believe, is your right, what others believe are their choice. There is nothing anyone can say to you to make you a believer, likewise you will never convince a true believer that there is no God. I believe in God, I believe that he has messengers (Christians refer to as angels); why because I elect to believe. The freedom of choice.

Could you pull back just a little on Wolf. He is correct, many Christians do not follow even their own teachings. I too believe in only one almighty God, Jah is often used in substitution of the Hebrew spelling. If you got to know us, we are more than sympathetic to the concerns you have. It is not boasting, we simply live each day as if it is our last; and knowing this we try hard to be faithful to the one God's teachings.

Great points! There has been times that someone is grumpy with me and if I know the person I will ask what is going on. If I do not know the person, I acknowledge them and tell them that I made a mistake or I simply say opps, I smile, they smile, everyone goes on with the smile and perhaps a better mood. That is a quick way to defuse any bad situation. If kindness does not work, the I just keep on turkin....

What do you mean that my son covered for me? Yes, I am proud of him, he is considering moving back into the area. He has become very involved in the Synagogue and now helps me deliver meals to shut ins.
BTW, great advice to J. It is hard every once in a while to take the higher ground, but in the end you feel much better about yourself when you do!

It is easy to get angry on this site. Many people find your particular buttons and then just do not know when to stop poking you with a stick. I did not read that thread, but I can tell you that it really is not worth your dignity to become paralyzed with anger. It detracts from your point. But, you know that and thus the reason for your post. I have been away for a while and this is my first time back, this place has become very hostile. Few people are willing to converse. Most of the new folks seem very hostile to opposing points of view.
I commend you for recognizing this breach, I further admire you for posting your regrets. I hope that this one time unpleasant incident does not drive you away. It is easy to say, when they start with inane remarks to ignore them, but that at times is impossible. So, in responding, just make sure you do not address them at the same level they addressed you. Acknowledge them and then go back to the point you were trying to make. Repeat your original thought if necessary. This normally drives the misinformed and illiterate people onto other threads where they can be successful in picking a fight.
I wish you well, and I hope to read your posts in the future.
