It is always interesting to see liberals find some obscure employer who, for whatever reason, pays above going rate and extrapolate that into some criticism of some of the most successful businesses in the world.
Anyone who believes that large scale and long term any employer can pay wages above the market value of the workers' output has not concept of market based business. The only entity that can violate this is government, who by use of force extract from the "customer" the needed funding to support this market distortion. So, in order to run a system when the pay scale is about market value over the long term, government needs to take over those markets - in other words socialism needs to prevail.

Then don't. You add nothing but whining, complaining and negativity to the dialogue.
As Ginny pointed out, you ould rather bitch about someone being on the 'dole', than possible assisting workers who are making a decent wage.
Sounds exactly like the thinking of a putz.

Because, as a taxpayer, I may be subsidizing that higher wage.

And, you can't prove he isn't receiving a large part of his income from food stamps either.

Man, I don't even know why I even bother responding to your blatantly ignorant posts.

How about teaching them how to cook? Chicken cost $1.98 LB on sale. That's less than 70 cents a portion. Why do they need MY TAX MONEY for EBT cards used for FAST FOOD?

But most likely, stories like this are ignored, and they preach the gloom and doom of repressive capitalism and low wages.
I hope this business is successful and grows into a regional and maybe and national chain. Needs a better name though.

I don't live in Michigan, so I'm not sure how their food stamp program runs. It is different in each state. I know the state I live in one can not use food stamps to purchase fast food, but I have heard from other people that some states allow it.

This business owner has made the decision to set his pay scale at what HE thinks is appropriate for his business. It must be difficult for the low intellect right wing to accept that since it contradicts their inherent feeling that they, and only they, can run a business. Rightwing birds might learn something from this guy

You are correct. its HIS business and he is free to do what HE wants. It does not mean that all other food establishments must do what HE does.

I'm not aware of any conservative suggesting this business owner, or any business owner, not be able to set wages as he sees fit. Can you make a similar statement regarding liberals?

Years ago, there was a series of old Science Fiction books that, among other things, espoused the concept of "Enlightened Capitalism," which was very much like this. (If you're interested, look up books by E.E. "Doc" Smith.) The idea was that, by improving the conditions of the workers, the entire economy would be improved, thereby bringing overall prosperity to the entire system.

Unfortunately, as is so often the case, such altruistic activity does not reflect real human behavior. Few corporate heads are willing to cut into their own income to improve performance levels: their
efforts are geared to improving their own "bottom line." This, then, tends to minimize profits, leading to less money available for wages, and then leading right back to the old minimum wage. Greedy turkeys. Yes, I know that's a "label!"
