Until blacksheep entered I was thinking, why not use the p.m.feature instead of embarrassing yourselfs and saying unchristian remarks? I'm out of here. I'm sad that the Christians on this site have allowed their so called fervor for Christ to become a stumbling block and insult to others on OPP.

I should clarify. As my addendum was meant to illustrate, I feel that a pure, loving motive exonerates the action from hatefulness. As I cannot fully read any other heart, I consider the offer of solicitous prayer to be beneficent, unless prior experience makes that seem unlikely.
For instance, if someone should offer to pray for me at the same time they advocate for the death of all atheists, I assume their motive is more about self aggrandizement and less about my (undesired) benefit.
I try to err on the side of benefit of the doubt. Sometimes there is no doubt, however.
Again, I am grateful for any loving thought acts.

Wow. I thought you were much bigger than this. I don't need to tell Jesus anything and He already knows I believe in Him and respect Him. I was trying to be funny. I did not realize you had anger in your heart. I did not realize you don't have a sense of humor. Have a nice life. I am going to enjoy a nap.

Everyone "has anger in their heart". We all can be angry including you. You also have anger in your heart and maybe a few other places. "Wow I thought you were bigger, you have no sense of humor, you're full of anger, I was being funny." What a cowardly response.

You were hypocritical. I called you on it, and you sloughed it off as a joke. Blaming that on me by saying I spoke from anger and I can't take a joke is bullshit, baby. You're dancing, sidestepping. It's not working with me. You were hypocritical.

I know you will never admit it, but that's okay, you're in good company with all the other people who claim to follow Jesus.

You have a religion, even if you don't call it that. You attend a church and you worship at an alter. That's not spirituality, that's religion. What's with the In-Between act? Hedging your bets?

I saw it and thank you. Of course it is done out of a spirit of love. I tried to joke with blacksheep about his hypocrite comment but did not expect him to receive it the way he did. It was also done out of a spirit of love.

Very well put. Unfortunately, not one single Christian out of the billions will ever admit that their prayers for someone are best made quietly and without fanfare. They all want you to know how very righteous they are by broadcasting to the world that they're praying for you, you poor lost sinner, and if you don't like being told about it, that's your fault. They have no control over how you feel.

On the other hand, tell them that their beliefs are superstitious crap and watch the rage explode, especially after you explain in factual detail exactly WHY their beliefs are crap.

Christians are hypocrites.

There it is. Thanks, Christian hypocrite, for saying exactly what I said you'd say.

Rufus and his buddy are not typical Chritians so please don't use them as examples.

Christians are not judgmental, sarcastic, condescending, nor foul mouthed....nor do they demand anything or expect one to quote scripture at every breath. They do not attack those who have differing opinions nor do they believe that they have all the answers. They do not exhibit hate and are not threatened by anyone who disagrees with them.

I find that those who wear their Christianity as a badge of superiority to be flaunted at every opportunity, to be devoid of the humility taught by Christ. Those two are self-serving and as such they are not representative of Christians and they are lacking the qualities of a true Christian. It's as if they think being a Christian gives them the right to feel superior.

Now to prove my point, they cannot allow themselves to be criticized so watch how they react to my post to you.

No it wasn't, it was your attempt to make a joke out of your hypocritical response. When I called you on it, you made a personal attack, "I thought you were bigger, you're full of anger, no sense of humor".
Sounds like you're describing yourself.

I must say I totally disagree with you on almost everything you said. You did not call me on anything. I do not need to side step anything. I have no problem admitting when I am wrong. I now realize you are very sensitive on this subject. I in no way meant to offend you. I was actually joking with you, but had no idea you would take it the way you have. So at least know I had good motives.

It's okay, you're right in what you say, I just take it on myself to parade the hypocrisy of people like that. I like to watch them squirm. I know full well that not one will ever admit to a thing.

My biggest problem with Christianity is that most Christians are people like that. So few actually try to practice what they preach. That, and pumping their children full of the doctrine and dogma before the kids are old enough to decide on their own if they want to follow some particular doctrine.

All religion is superstition. Some superstitions are good ideas, like not walking under ladders. Something might hit you on the head. But inculcating little kids with a pack of lies when they believe in you and trust you, is just wrong.

Sometimes there is no doubt. There was no humor in BLACKSHEEP's initial post or any subsequent. Your cringing hypocritical response and passive aggressive stance belies any good intentions. Please don't bother to pray for me. At this point, I would appreciate it if you could manage to never think of me again!

Love you.

No, you did not have good motives. You pray on a public forum and announce it so we'll all know how righteous you are, in direct violation of the teachings of Jesus, whom you say you follow, and when this is pointed out to you by me, you attack me.

I missed the joke. Mind telling me where the funny part is?

Another question. Do you ever say "sorry"? I'd really like to see you say that to anyone, doesn't matter who.

No. I am harmless. I am not the insulting kind of person, I was actually pulling OG's leg. And OPP is not what it once was. It is now more of a chat room than a political site to discuss politics. The posters have also changed, at one time there were informed, intelligent, and aware posters that knew subjects and could write.

Yes, I did have a avatar that had a inappropriate or as pointed out to me suggestive shot of my legs. It was brought to my attention and I quickly removed it. I did not want to offend you or anyone by that pix... It is not part of my nature to be an exhibitionist or post suggestive material. Sorry again for offending you.

Hi ginny--I'm hoping your comments are meant in joking and not just being rude...I'd prefer to think joking, yet some of your remarks suggest otherwise..Like saying some pictures here suggest the site more a dating service than Opp..Yet, you also bring up your invitation to Gringo to visit you..Seems somewhat hypocritical if you are just being offensive...

Didn't you just change your picture of "your legs profile, sitting on the beach"?? Should that be made out to be anything more than what was intended..A relaxing day seaside???

Anyway, Gringo is a jokster..This I sure you know... I wish you a good day~~

OK Blacksheep. I am very sorry if I offended you. That was not my intention. I was trying to be funny about your comments of hypocritical Christians praying in public so they could get the recognition for it. I changed Lord to Lawd to try to make it obvious I was being dramatic. I used the examples of going off the cliff, total desruction, poor little lost sheep all to be funny in a dramatic fashion. I kept telling the Lord that this is Rufus to be funny about your comment of Christians needing recognition. Like I said it was meant in good fun. So I hope you see I did not not mean any harm
