VIGUERIE: IMPEACH OR SHUT DOWN GOV'T TO STOP AMNESTY
'We can't allow Obama to become a dictator'

Legendary conservative activist Richard Viguerie is imploring Republican leaders in Congress to do whatever is necessary – including impeachment or refusing to fund parts of the government – to stop President Obama’s plan to unilaterally legalize up to six million illegal immigrants through executive action.

Viguerie pioneered the use of direct mail in political campaigning in the 1960s and 1970s. He is now the chairman of ConservativeHQ.com. His most recent book is “Takeover: The 100-Year War for the Soul of the GOP and how Conservatives Can Finally Win It.”

Reports this week suggest the president is planning to grant legal status to the parents of children who are U.S. citizens or already have legal status. Viguerie is among a large consensus on the right that the president’s actions would be unconstitutional, but there is great divide on what the Republican response ought to be. For Viguerie, stopping what he considers amnesty means using every tool in constitutional toolbox.

“The Republicans should use all means available to oppose this effort, including impeachment as well as shutting down the government, if that’s what it takes to protect our form of government,” Viguerie said. “We can’t allow Obama to become a dictator.”

He added, “A failure to use all legal means to oppose his illegal amnesty efforts that’s being rumored about here would be a sign of serious sign of weakness on the Republican leaders’ part. And it would embolden the Democrats to continue to act outside of the Constitution.”

Impeachment would take too long and it's difficult to be certain we'd have the 2/3rds majority needed in the Senate. A government shutdown would not be good for the Republicans, BUT, since Congress "holds the purse strings", they CAN and SHOULD defund the amnesty attempt AND "defund" the entire executive branch, from SOBARKA right on down and I do mean "defund it". Shut off the lights, water, everything, lock the door and hold the key until such time as we have a "new and worthy" occupant for the oval office. I think we'd be stunned at how quickly ALL the rats would leave the sinking ship. Oh, that also includes Air Force One- - let the SOBARKA family buy their own tickets back to Chicago.

Uhuh. These illegals are already here and have been for some time. Many of them are the family members of US citizens, children and spouses, who have been promised ( by BOTH parties) that their situations would be addressed - 6 or more years ago. Many of them are related to military members, to whom we owe a whole lot more.

This is the fight Republicans really want to have? Now? I know their operatives have been trying to scare people into thinking this would be a blanket amnesty program, but it isn't and never was going to be. It WILL be a way to directly address the issues relating to the folks I mentioned above and ONLY those folk. Anyone who crosses, or has crossed the border illegally, would still be caught and deported. Business as usual.

So if the President chooses to protect the people we have already promised to protect, then the Congress can do ( or not do ) whatever it pleases - and take as long as it likes to do it- business as usual. It is unfortunate that the Congress constantly accuses the President of usurping it's authority - while they steadily abrogate their responsibility to use it themselves.

That would be wonderful, but it won't happen.

It seems that almost everyone understands that politicians won't go against their own party members.

It goes further than that. Politicians protect orher politicians. They won't punish them for their sins, except verbally. It's like lawyers who won't sue other lawyers.

A fair statement for sure..They have always held the purse strings to control or not control and have caved more than they should have giving up the fight before even getting it going because Senate ruled..Well, that has all changed now..I say again, shut down the funding period on anything not done through the proper channels..Force bi-partisan votes on every major issue there is..Make those D's now running as fast as they can from the POS in office knowing their time is also limited 2016 if they don't start playing fair and do what is right for this Country rather than party!!

Its time and this issue alone will make or break what happens 2016 for the Ds I mean................Goooooooo, goooooooo, goooooooooooooo...Hold nothing back and force every damn issue front and center....period~~

That's exactly why we need a non- politician in the WH: Carson and don't talk about experience; look at the last 6 years.
