I see it as looking to pair up for the evening. It gets cold at night. Maybe penquins' version of "Sadie Hawkins Day"?

Please do not make me give you chapter and verse, literally. The foundations of "bundling" can be found in the Book of Ruth. It is more prevalently known as the Amish are well known for the practice; however, many groups have practiced it. It has been used a "courtship" practice during cold weather in homes lacking central heat. The couple are given separate blankets, wrap themselves in their individual blankets ( on occasions there were boards placed between the bundlers) to provide private time to talk and learn about each other.

As I am positive you do not want more, I will not mention bundling sacks, renting of half beds in hotels, etc. :-)

Sure, I would like to think I'm always open to enlightenment of any sort.
