Very sorry to hear about your loss. We can get so close to our pets that we often forget they are pets and think of them as family. I lost three of them not long ago and all of them was from old age. Each one of them took part of my heart with them. I grieved so bad with the last one that I though my heart was going to explode. I found a new one shortly after that and we took immediately to each other. He is fantastic and keeps me going. I will never forget the others, but this one has saved my sanity and always seems to know when I am saddened by the loss of the others. Our friends surly have a special place in heaven and are waiting for us.
Very sorry to hear about your loss. We can get so ... (show quote)

And you kept promising to post photos of him, and I am still waiting.

I would like to thank all of you for your kind words and well wishes, I shared them all with my oldest daughter, and she would like me to thank you all on her behalf. She suggested that I share the story about his first day home with us, so here it is.

Ever since I could remember my daughter has always wanted a dog, but I wanted to wait until I thought she was old enough to atleast share some of the responsibility. So, after about four years of her asking for a dog for her birthday I decided it was time. Just before her eighth birthday I told her we could start to talk seriously about getting one, you should have seen her face light up. She knew exactly what she wanted, and had his name already picked out. I had some difficulty in timing it for her birthday and I explained to her it was going to take a little more time(Christmas was only two weeks away). That Christmas morning she came downstairs, and rubbing her sleepy little eyes she says "dad, why is there a trash bag under the tree?".... The dog looked up at her as if to say "who you calling a trash bag?"... her chin just dropped and her eyes filled with tears of joy, she ran over and gave him the biggest hug saying "I waited so long for you Bailey I'm glad you're home". From that day on they were inseparable, he inspired her to go to college to become a veterinarian. He truley was... the Best Dog Ever.

The baby in that pic is my second daughter who also was born a dog lover, when my oldest was either at work or school, Bailey hung out with the baby.

Again, thank all of you, even though me and my family are perfect strangers to you, you all opened your hearts to us, and for that, I love you in Christ.

They certainly fit into the family like another child, only no diapers necessary.

Nice post Worried. I suppose you have even forgiven me for reading that your dog was just lost and not LOST? I may have to adjust my thread review time and, my brain. One thing I have the power to do something about and the other, has me leaving comments like these as a matter of course.

God bless!
