Armed Robber Tries To Steal Car, But This Second Amendment Supporter Has Other Plans

Luckily, we don’t have to be sitting ducks. Instead, we have the option of arming ourselves and defending our person and property. That’s the beauty of our Second Amendment. Rather than leaving innocent citizens at the mercy of criminals, it acts as the great neutralizer, allowing an intended victim the means to effectively combat those intending to do harm. As stories like this one and many others prove, it’s effective. Criminals, be warned.

This was a long time ago when I was 21 in the military in Shreveport Louisiana, I used to go to a range outside of Shreveport and soot for a few hours in the afternoon. As I was going back to base I'd look for a place to eat. One night it was getting dark, and I went through an alley to get back to a place I'd seen on a one way street. I had a few rifles and pistols cased up and on the back seat, and a S&W 44 mag with the long 8-3/8ths barrel in a zippered case. I did not like the looks of this alley or the people hanging out in it so I had unzippered the case, as I was stopped at a street to cross, a guy was babbling something with a mo fo in it as he went to put his face in my window. It may have been a bit of an over reaction, but as he was putting his face in the window, I was whipping this monster 44 in his face to ask what he wanted. Had I had a .45 in my hand it would have stopped perfectly in his face where he could see it, having this monster barrel it hit him in the face along side his nose a bit way too hard. It did get the guy's attention though, he jumped back so hard he landed on his back and did a backwards crab crawl. I still laugh at the thought of that.

Nowadays, as Dirty Harry would have said, I'd have had every right to have blown his head right off.

Moral of the story, having guns doesn't give people the right to shoot someone unless their life is actually in danger.

When using a gun you should never get close enough to someone to effect your shot. That's why you have a projectile weapon. So you can stand back and let the bullets fly. If you have a gun pointed at me and I'm close enough to touch it, I will
If I have a gun you'll know it when you hear it.

Twenty feet is the optimum distance in combat shooting.

Some would say that you should wait till your beaten or molested to use deadly force. Those people are called dead or raped! Fortunate for him you didn't have to take his life! He'll just go on do it to some other poor soul without a weapon!
