invoke the 14th amendment have treasury mint the platinum coin and tell the republicans to pound sand and piss up a rope. No reason to bargain with extortionists. I hope Biden has a nice holiday at the shore while McCarthy stews in his own juices.

I hope he enjoys his vacation also. I hear they’re going to have a kid sniffing contest.

He doesn’t even realize the part of the 14th Amendment he’d like to invoke had to do with the civil War. Even if they tried it they would go through litigation. Probably all the way to the Supreme Court. The debt default would happen way before that issue was settled. The imminent debt default is nothing more than a scare tactic. We have more revenue coming in to the Treasury now than ever. Thank you Trump tax cuts. There’s enough to keep all essential government agencies open at current levels. Only wimps like kevy worry. Afraid his SNAP card won’t work.

Biden has been placed in a drug induced coma for the weekend. He will wake up tuesday morning to 6 injections of B-12 and shipped back to the Whitehouse in time for a nap before he sits in on the next debt relief meeting.

Hello, and the party holding the hostage is doing what to sign a debt increase, which is the only thing to talk about?

Biden is about to end this BS and go nuclear on it with either an article 14 move to uphold the constitution and debt of the country, or something else.

the dummy doesn't even realize how the 14th Amendment could be used and what section they would be invoking. If they tried this stupid stunt it would be litigated. the debt ceiling and resulting negotiations or default would have taken place by the time this law suit would ever be settled. He's not only a troll but a stupid one.

Are you going to tell current, and more importantly future, bond holders the same thing? You might get an interesting reply.

Essential government agencies, yes; leftist desired government agencies, probably not.

It is so amazing there are so many people with closed minds. You accuse repubs of holding hostage while your beloved dems refuse to negotiate, saying you will only approve straight raise of the ceiling. Ever think how we got here? BOTH PARTIES have over spent and over spent for years, congress refuses to pass a balanced budget amendment because that would cause them to not over spend. At some point the payments on the debt will be more than the nation can pay if this continues. Put a balanced budget amendment in, stop sending money to foreign countries that never gets to the people it is supposed to help. Take congress health care away and let them have the same as people on medicare. Take away their pension, make them pay into social security and that is their retirement (see how fast those programs get fixed). Historically dems don't negotiate in good faith, do this and we'll do this. Well, in my experience repubs say okay but the dems never do what they promised not to mention they don't negotiate, it's their way or no way!
