"SYDNEY, July 19 (RIA Novosti) - Turkey suggested using national currencies in trade with Russia, Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development said Saturday.

"Turkey is offering Russia to switch to national currencies in mutual payments," the ministry's press service announced after the meeting between Russia's Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev and his Turkish counterpart Nihat Zeybekçi in Australia.

The ministers met at the B20 (Business-20) forum, which gathers business leaders of the Group of 20 (G20) members.

The trade volume between Russia and Turkey amounted to $32.7 billion in 2013. Russia is Turkey's second-largest trade partner after the European Union. Turkey ranks eighth among Russia's foreign trade partners.

Russian authorities considered renewing the talks on switching to national currencies in order to decrease the dependence on the US dollar amid tense relations with the West due to the Ukrainian crisis.

The trade volume between the two nations fell 4.5 percent last year but recovered 0.6 percent in the first five months of 2014 due to the growth of Russian export, Ulyukayev said.

"[The fall] is largely explained by the unfavorable global economic environment. Our task is to put maximum effort to preserve the positive dynamics of the bilateral trade," the Russian minister said.

The issue is currently under the revision of the bilateral working group on cooperation in banking and finance.

The Turkish side has also expressed interest in building a transport and logistics hub in Russia with links to sea ports, airports, railways and highways, Zeybekçi said. The ministers plan to discuss the issue in Istanbul in September, according to the Russian ministry."

The dollar's days as king of currency are numbered. Then Americans will learn all about what it is to live like humans rather than human swine...America will no longer be able to play god of the Earth....

I don't find anything good with that kind of simplistic thinking. It won't be rosy having Turkey (former Ottomans) united with Russia. And don't kid yourselfs, Turkey is only in it to take America down financially. That's how they've always done it. Don't believe me? There's a thread on right now on Opp with a YouTube video outlining the way Islam defeats it's enemy's. Russia is basically Christian. Another Armenian holocaust is right up Turkeys sleeve. And the corrupt Putin? He will gladly let them do it. Obama,he is laughing right this minute. Sinister and apocalyptic. Keep looking upwards. You're going to need to. As will all of us.

Don't blame the American people for what our thriving government has and is doing to the countries of the world. If anyone out there thinks for a second that the people agree with what has been happening your mistaken sorely. We haven't had a say in this government's game in years. One can say that a person can vote but anyone with any sense knows that when it's already rigged your vote nor your voice doesn't mean squat.

can't believe: I just provided the bottom line on the matter. Yet things are going to end up far worse than I have said--prophesied. America's days of playing god of our world are numbered. God is going to destroy her through Russia and China. The process began with 911. This past April, another huge development in the chain occurred when Russia and China finally agreed to start working together more closely. God has chosen them to destroy America for her multitude of sins, the insidious sociopolitical-economic system (religion) that she has perpetuated, and because of her woeful attitude and that of far too many of her peoples.....

I agree to a small degree. The fact of the matter is that the people of America could have changed things long ago or presently if they really wanted to do so. But they are too busy chasing their foolish dreams and being materialist pigs to bother. In fact, they sort of like the way things have been. But yes--so-called democracy (ie, republicanism) is a farce. Our nation has always been ruled by a plutocracy. That is more or less true of all so-called democracies. Lots of money equals lots of power. Whatever the case, the peoples of America will suffer exceedingly before the end comes. They will do so for putting up with a thoroughly corrupt, evil government and for their own sins, which they commit, while participating in an insidious sociopolitical-economic system designed to ruin souls, as it rapes, plunders, and pillages our world to death for the sake of pride, vanity, greed, convenience, expediency, materialism, and hedonism. Even if there were no God, such awful behavior and the swinish attitude sustaining such would lead to a very bad ending. But God is true and good. He will not allow the outrageous behavior and attitude of America and her peoples to persist too long....

You flatter yourself if you believe you know Putin's heart and soul. Stop sucking up crap that the State Department's propaganda puppies excrete...Yes, Turkey might squash the Armenians yet again. How sad. But it will not be Putin's fault. Do you honestly believe that good old America will charge forth and become the Armenians' champion by standing up to Turkey?...

Washington is no longer part of America. Seems many here just don't get that.

All the gold has moved from West to East. The question will be at what backing will it be.
If you took the gold now and pegged it to the top trade currencies it would value at around $49,000.00 an oz. So allowing currency to be backed 10/1 would put the value at $4,900.00 an oz. I don't believe people globally will be accepting a flat fiat any time soon.

Some experts in such matters suggest that the world will switch to a so-called basket of currencies backed up by gold and an assortment of other metals precious and otherwise...The time is coming for fiat currencies to become extinct--none too soon....
