Well dam,
Why the hell haven't you done this a long time ago?

You have the use of the National Guard, the State Police,
the sheriffs department, the county prison department, and the local police, and more I'm sure. Your whole state administration has been well aware of the cost of illegals from day one. Mr. Parry, you have had over 12 or more years to stop the illegals from interring you state.

I guess its never to late, but really, its about time you got off your ass and took the bull by the horns as it were.

Oh, buy the way. With that kind of performance, don't count on my vote if you are planning to run for the office of president.

To be fair, to do what he suggests is open defiance of the federal government. It could result in a huge mess for Texas

Yes, I think this move could have been accomplished years ago, and could be more of a political move at this point, but perhaps Texas has just recently moved financially to where it can do without federal money because that surely is one of the potential results of this act of defiance.

I respectfully disagree with you on this matter. Some where I seen a estimate on what it has cost Texas tax payers in the last decade to deal with the illegals coming across there boarder from Mexico. A staggering 14 to 15 plus billions dollars. And lets not forget, this figure does not include the pain and suffering, the Texas people have had to indore . It does not include the cost to all the other states that have had to deal with this problem. Nor the loss of life on both sides of the boarder, because the Governor of Texas did not protect his state from the evasion that has been, and is being perpetrated on his own state boarder even as late as of 10 minutes ago.

Let me ask you. How long would it take you, if some one came on to your property, and decided to take up homesteading, before you would kick them the hell out of there? Not long I'm guessing.

The federal government has an obligation to protect its citizens from foreign invasion. This is one. But it is an invasion of people looking for a better life for the most part.

I don't fault these folks for wanting that. Hell, we all want that. But we have laws on the books now that if obeyed, should have taken care of this. This never should have happened in the first place. Because we have politicians that want to disregard, and disobey our immigration laws,
and a president that willfully has decided not to for fill
his oath of office, Illegals are now flooding into our country as never before. I know and understand this, the same as you and all the rest of us. And Gov. Parry knows it best of all. The State of Texas is drowning, and Parry is waiting for more water to be given him by Obama. Not smart.

I agree with you right down the line and I'm certainly no expert on Texas finances. The problem is that laws are being broken by this administration and no one in DC has the courage to do anything about it.

If Texas takes matters into its own hands, who will prevent, or for that matter stop, reprisal from the feds? I don't know how much Texas gets from the federal government but I would imagine that when each dept. is added together it is sizable. And money is only one type of federal reprisal.

We here have discussed how Obama is bent on tearing the country down so he can rebuild it his way....just as he promised in 2008. What better way than to pressure a few selected states into attempting to disavow the fed. Would that not open the door to a heavier and more high handed response from him?

There are only 4 months left before mid term elections. Rather than going off half cocked, giving Obama a potential reason to act, unlawfully of course but still act......would it not perhaps be a better plan to turn that energy and money toward retaining the House and taking the Senate.

To put it another way; Bat Masterson was once asked where he aimed when facing an enemy in a shootout. "I aim for one of their eyes" he replied. The reporter asked him why that target? Bat replied " It ruins their aim".
