keepuphope, I believe that freedom of speech is extremely important, but not absolute. You may not lie about a person with the goal of hurting his, or her reputation. Thats slander. You may not threaten to use force against an individual, or disrupt the educational process in a classroom, and no yelling "fire " in a crowded theater unless the fire is real.
Having said that freedom of speech is essential, I do believe that people must be held accountable for what they say. I will defend your right to say things I don't like, but I may lose respect for your political opinion, as would many others.

I just watched an interview with Steve Lukather, one of the best guitarists in the world. He gave a FREE seminar at UC Berkeley, and was disinvited to ever come back because he told a joke that one, count 'em, ONE butthurt lesbian found "offensive." The vast majority of attendees, including the Dean of the School of Music, found it hilarious. It took one offended dyke to screw the program for everyone. Even Liberal musicians (make no mistake, Lukather is Liberal) can't catch a break from the wokesters.
