That gave workers the opportunity to work from where ever they could get an internet connection, including in Mexico. However, that isn’t going over well with the locals.
According to HireAHelper, Mexico was the top destination for Americans who moved out of the country in 2021, as more than 16,000 US citizens relocated there during that time. The cheap cost of living and rich culture is drawing people into the nation, but not everyone is happy about it.
The influx of people is reportedly driving the prices up in the Latin American country. David Alvarez asked The Epoch Times how Mexicans are supposed to pay their rent when “all the gringos are taking over.”
There are reportedly signs posted around Mexico City that say things like remote workers are “a [expletive] plague and the LOCALS [expletive] HATE YOU. LEAVE.”While the cost of living in Mexico is low, the crime rate and corruption are high. The country has been at war with itself for more than two decades because of drug cartels.
Would you consider moving to Mexico if you could land a job as a remote worker?

Right! You'd need armed security with the drug cartel unleashed on the people!

If I could live in Mexico entirely for FREE I wouldn't move there. I have been considering Panama though.

I’ve heard Costa Rica is really nice!

When I was a child, my mother asked me how I would feel about moving to Tijuana. I told her I wouldn't like it! Mother worked at Consolidated (now known as Convair) and she was trying to stretch the budget. Women weren't paid as well as the men - guess that's why she became shop steward for the union.
Anyway, we had been to Tijuana many times and I remember the shanty towns built with cardboard boxes on muddy ground. I know mom could've afforded to rent a house - but then I'd have to learn the Mexican language, which is a slang form of Castillian Spanish.

Belize ( former British Honduras) is great;
Uruguay; Paraguay; Costa Rica.

I've been checking out Costa Rica, but their ads say one thing and the reality says the opposite.

Majority of the people from the Hispanic countries are corrupt. They have their beautiful land, but corruptions of their leaders damaged them. The people don't fight to save their country but instead run away to come to the US. For handouts mostly since majority could not even speak English when they are right just few miles away from the US.
Brazil now is taken over and bluffed by Chinese. Eventually Chinese will owns them. Edir Macedo, the multi-billionaire Evangelical Pastor, left the Catholic Church, since he could not make money as a Catholic Priest. So he moved to Evangelical Pastor and now the richest Pastor in the world. Owns multi-billion of dollars preaching and selling the words of God.
Mexico owns the most sophisticated Drug dealers of the world. They are multi-billionaires now, selling tons of drugs sent by China and then into the US where they poison, millions of our own people year-to date.

Well, it's not like they're threatening Americans into taking the drugs. Americans seem to be too willing to be poisoned by the drug(s).
