American Rock Star Sits and Eats Popcorn While National Anthem Plays at NFL Game
American rock star John Mellencamp, the artist responsible for "Ain't That America," was seen sitting down and eating popcorn before the Indianapolis Colts-Philadelphia Eagles game Sunday.
A fan tweeted a photo of it and tagged Dan Dakich of Outkick. While everyone around him was standing with their hand over the heart, Mellencamp remained seated and kept enjoying his popcorn.
Mellencamp has never shied away from political statements to further his brand. He added a "take a knee" segment to his concerts. He claims the act was spontaneous.
“I’ve never planned anything in my life,” Mellencamp said to Billboard magazine. “Taking a knee felt like nothing. At the time, it felt like part of the performance. After the fact, I hope it made some kind of difference.”
Mellencamp ripped former President Donald Trump for his stance against players kneeling during the national anthem.
“Taking the knee started purely and simply as a protest of racial and social injustice,” Mellencamp told the Associated Press at the time.“Sadly, it was politicized by the current administration. The song is simple and the protest is pure.”

The only POS in this country is Trump and the morons that follow him.
5 People dead in a deadly shooting in Club Q by a right wing extremist and these Trump morons post about a rock star eating a (F) ing box of popcorn.
What a sick country created by Trump and his idiots

Only YOU would take an article about John Mellencamp sitting down during the National Anthem and spin it about Trump! You really really REALLY have a problem with your obsession with Trump.

Saw them at the Forum stadium in Los Angeles around 71 with Chicago, Norman Greenbaum and the James Cotton blues band. $8.50 for loge seating.
