There is a lot of research and proof that Hemp and Bamboo can replace trees as sources for fiber. Hemp will grow in one season and produce more fiber per acre than trees. It can be used for every thing from paper to cloth. There is research that it even can be made into rechargeable battery's that can power electric cars. It can be made into concrete for buildings and creating wildlife habitat. The same can be said about Bamboo. There should be serious effort into growing these resources and the mass developing of products we use that can be made from them.

They stopped us from planting it and using it as a resource because of cannabis so that the government could put people in jail for using it and to keep framers from making a good profit. And it was government control.

Yeah, but is hemp as soft as cotton? I also heard in China they use bamboo for scaffolding when building buildings. You can buy bamboo hardwood flooring, too.

Decades ago, before the Federal Government stepped in and criminalized ALL products connected to marijuana, most of our rope/,many paper products were made out of hemp.

There is a particularly disgusting story I remember from decades ago; a Native American tribe, I believe it was the Sioux (after a cost/benefit analysis) invested most of the tribes funds in hemp seeds. As the plants grew they were repeatedly tested for THC, (the part that get's you high,) and there was always not enough to barely register. The Feds also came out repeatedly, also checked the THC content/found it in acceptable range. It was a bumper crop. The tribe was going to make an enormous amount of money...and they were living below the poverty level. When it came time to harvest, The Feds actually let the tribe cut and stack the harvest/ready to bale...the feds came in/burned the entire crop to the ground. And remember this was HEMP. The Feds never once indicated that this was even something that could happen/never any warning. They let them spend their savings/work for months/burned it all in front them. Makes you want to throw-up

Just about all clothing was made from hemp before cotton became a farmed crop .

I do not doubt that but the time has come to expand into using alternatives to trees. Not to replace trees but to satisfy the fiber needs of our growing population .

The hemp plant is also very fast growing ,puts a lot of oxygen in the air ,plus it takes lots of carbon dioxide out of the air too ,it could be the answer to global warming!!!!😁

Yes it does The government has a long history of keeping the Native Americans marginalized and in poverty . Things are changing but still too many times the natives are being mistreated .

Back in the colonial days everyone was expected to plant hemp it was ordered by our government ,If you make a pair of jeans or a shirt from the fiber they will last for years much longer than cotton.
Plus that's what rope was made from .

You can make concrete as soft as cotton.... you heard in China did ya?
Bamboo has been used for 1000s of years for support..... Gilligan and skipper did it too.

Are you serious? You can actually bur bamboo flooring...ta hell you say.... at 1.99 per sq ft is a great price for that tongue and groove that needs a glue down application...... rumor has it they make cutting boards from it also.

What else have you heard? Is the Andy Griffith show new to television where you live?
