I've got an older truck sitting out in my field that has those. It still runs, but I've got a Duramax with all the bells and whistles sitting in my driveway.

Keep the old one with the necessary fuel. If an
EMP hits you still have transportation.

Yep, I probably should bring the battery in and keep it charged up. Now that's on my to do list.
They will also never no the freedom of riding a bike barefoot on a gravel street with no knee pads, elbow pads, helmets, eye protection, ear protection, neck braces, back braces, and life preservers on.

I was rigid about the helmet after a co-worker had a concussion from a no helmet biking accident.

I wore a helmet riding my dirt bike. (Motorcycle) But, never with a bicycle. It's amazing that I'm alive, and no small wonder that I'm on the list for a skeleton transplant. A few wrecks on fast horses as an adult aided, and abetted the destruction.
But......Damn It was fun!!

Honestly, the kids here did not do much bike riding. They did more walking. Narrow street made it
iffy with cars and bike riders.
Thinking about calling you on the 3rd when Lon and I are together.

I couldn't imagine having kids in that environment. We are country people who tolerate the city when required, then run to where it's quiet again.
My 4 year year old grandson got his first black eye yesterday when he fell off of the slide at their house. I was on the phone with my son when Mama brought him in crying. My son said "Yeah, that one's worth crying over, I gotta go Dad. Love you bye." Kids OK, just a strawberry on his cheek, and a black eye. Tuff lil turd!!
I didn't look at the calender, but I will tomorrow, and let you know what time will be good because I'll take that call!

It is a Monday, planned time between 4:30-5:30 eastern time.

So, between 3:30, and 4:30 here, right?
By then, I should be in the part of my route where it's quiet, and peaceful. Call me. I can put my phone on speaker, have it in my shirt pocket, and talk while I work. But, if I say hang on, y'all shut up for a second.

Here is an interesting article on EMP's.
https://www.superprepper.com/will-cars-still-run-after-an-emp/I don't think most of us will need to worry. I believe that article also said that 4 wheel drive would be advantageous.
Thanks for that article. All of my vehicles are 4 wheel drive, even my Cadillac is all wheel drive.
