The 'independent state legislature doctrine' is a longtime favorite of conservative legal thinkers and Republicans

Yup.....soon we'll see legitimizing of poll taxes, racial discrimination, extreme gerrymandering, economic tests, women not having independence from husbands or fathers, all the old tricks states used to use to keep the elites from being disturbed behind their gated communities.

The 'independent state legislature doctrine' was the basis for the Articles of Confederacy....which didn't work. Republicans and conservative legal thinkers want to return to a failed concept.

Their actions, while glorified now by some. will have unforeseen and unintended consequences. It will be interesting to see what they are.

NUTS. The constitution gives the state legislatures that power over the governors, secretaries of state and state courts. But they still would have to live with SCOTUS to over rule radical or unfair ideas.

And to think We the People are to rule over all of them. But the collective of We the People have been dumbed down.

We have to keep bringing out the truth and never stop. Add in logic and common sense and follow the Constitution and we will win in the end.
