A fun personal event. Perhaps will bring a smile to my friends. Ignore if not interested in fluff stuff.
Tonight we had a family party to celebrate my eldest daughter's birthday. She is forty years old today. Lots of fun, with all the usual stuff, plus five grandkids (ages 6 to 14) dancing to a Utube video called 'the cha cha slide'. My wife and I got our daughter a nice gift, but the fun was the sack. Just a medium gift bag, but in plain brown paper. I spent several hours 'preping' the bag by covering it, all four sides plus the bottom, in things like:
Forty.
40.
5x8=40
XXXX (Roman numerals)
820 candles (used to date)
347 lbs of Birthday cake
32 lbs of icing
and on and on. You get the idea. The bag was solid with these kind of reminders of her age.
Then my wife joined in. She found space to add HAPPY BIRTHDAY in 23 different languages, including
AAAAAhhhhhhrrrrrrnnnnn (Wookie)
qoSlIj DatIvja (Klingon)
and, of course, I AM GROOT.
We had a great time!!!!

These things are as much (or more) choices as feelings.
