I noticed that when my husband got laid off from his high tech job, he got a job as s stock boy at Sears
Nearly everyone there had a degree.
A lineman has to know something about electricity, and many have bachelor's degrees.
Your point is well taken, though. .Many people get degrees in stuff that there are few jobs in, like Anthropology or Classics, and even Marine biology or Ecology. They go to great schools with great costs. I wonder ihow many of them go back to a community collge to get certified in something useful.

This is why I blame school counselors they push for college telling parents that kids won't have a decent life if they don't have a degree. Most of my friends whose kids have degrees are bartenders or work at sams club

Interestingly enough, there are several well paying jobs that only need an Associates Degree. Community colleges offer an abundance of courses in these careers and cost substantially less.
