"Oh Happy Days when Jesus Walked." I object! Jesus still walks...in every Christian of good faith. I just saw it this morning.

And on every Sunday for six decades, and so many of the days in between. You can't recognize it from a gait. Or a face. And it comes in various sizes, even from children. Let's keep it simple: Love! It is a verb, action. It is not anything you can really find in Creeds or Articles of Faith. That is just ink and paper, not flesh and blood. No heart can be found. And the Bible teaches us nothing on the matter. Spirit and grace in fully accepting Christ--this moment!--is the only true tutor and guide. Our beliefs can be barriers, even walls, between us and the innermost Truth of being as Christ was in this world.

Did Jesus need a list of Commandments to follow and be a sacrifice? Of course not. You don't either. Whatever is to be found about Truth is not really in the Bible but in our hearts...once we surrender to the power of Grace that is God's love to share with All. Again, action! Sermons, though mere words, have an important role to play, as does Bible study. Yet not nearly as important as hugging, say, a homosexual. "Love never fails," according to 1 Corinthians. Let God do his job and you do yours--Love! Never rely on your own understanding of right and wrong. Though the results may appear as if you did the proper thing, it always fails love. You are likely interfering with His plan. Let God be in control, okay?

Hi rumitoid, - a brief reminder for you.

Also [God] said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:27

You appear to minimize, if not outright decry God's chosen method (namely the Bible, i.e., Holy Scripture), of communicating with His creation (namely us). Anyone who neglects God's Words does so at his own peril.

- And never does God tell us to (paraphrasing your own words), just chuck it all, toss out God's theology, and substitute a big sloppy kiss - whether for a homosexual, a movie star, a poor orphan boy, for yourself, or for anyone else!

Without the study of that Scripture there is much we would not know.

God’s promise to Abraham was as follows,

“Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (Genesis 12:1-3).

You do, of course, realize that Jesus, being fully God and fully man, after being born a Jew, through a Jewish mother, obeyed all the laws, fulfilling them perfectly, and as He was without spot or blemish, fully worthy of paying in full man's sin debt with His own human Jewish blood, shed on Calvary's Cross.

The revelation that it is with Jewish blood that all mankind is reconciled to God, after they accept His sacrifice, must be fully understood by those "White Identity Christians," and "White Supremacists Christians" now crawling out of the woodwork, and revelling in their unceasing desecration of the Gospel and defamation of the only ethnicity created through God's original promise to Abraham.

The New Testament (NT) term "hilasterion" translated propitiation, is a continuation of the Old Testament (OT) salvation theology - always understood in the context of blood sacrifice (Romans 3:25).

This atonement, in the OT, represents God's key concept of Salvation, which would culminate in Jesus Christ. This is put beyond cognitive questioning by John the Baptist's words, upon seeing Jesus, as He proclaimed, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" (John1:29)

Never is this theme, which runs consistently through God's revelation to mankind, unveiled in its entirety, other than through His Holy Scriptures of Genesis through Revelation.

Blood Atonement (at-one-ment with God) is God's assurance that He and humanity can rationally be "at one" again. This blood atonement did not originate with the Mosaic Law, but rather when Eve and Adam first rebelled against their Creator in the Garden of Eden.

It was fully recognized by Abel in his sacrifice, and by Cain, who rebelled against it, them slew his brother Abel, in a frenzied fit of jealousy. (Genesis 4:1-26; Hebrews 11:4)

God provided animal skins to cover Adam and Eve's nakedness, of which they had been made aware through eating the forbidden fruit of the pomegranate, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

This act on God's part necessitated the killing of innocent animals and the shedding of their blood on Adam and Eve's behave (Genesis 3:21). Thus was born the theme running the length of Scripture culminating in Jesus's voluntary death on Calvary's Cross; atonement requiring that an innocent party take the punishment due to a guilty party.

The Hebrew word translated "atonement" is kaphar, meaning "to cover." - For through the act of atonement, sin is covered in such a way that God can no longer see it.

Again, the NT term "hilasterion" translated propitiation, is a continuation of that OT salvation theology.

A Holy and Righteous God can not look upon sin, and those who refuse to kneel in repentance at the foot of Jesus' cross in full acceptance of His sacrifice on their behave will never spend eternity in the close proximity of God, either in Heaven, - or the new Heavens and New Earth in the presence of God.

"For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind. (Hebrews 12:26-27).

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.”

- Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” Revelation 21:1-27

Did you not just call someone a mean spirited maggot the other day? Do you honestly expect to be taken seriously when you so consistently show so much venom toward others?

I’ve never watched Honey Boo Boo, but apparently you have more of an interest in child beauty contests than I do so you’ll have to fill me in on the re-runs!………..Where in the world did you come up with thoughts about Honey Boo Boo with your “love is all that matters” theology? 😂🤗🥴

As far as me quoting scripture to prove you wrong, I already have more than once, along with others! When you first joined this forum in 2013 you quoted and defended the gospel scriptures and then at some point later you started preaching your Love sermon. You have demonstrated that you are knowledgeable in Bible scriptures, however, knowledge does not equal to actual understanding with the guidance of the Holy Spirit!

In my opinion, after all these years and the many times you have created threads on this subject, you do it for attention……..I wonder if you actually know what you believe?

The way I understand it, God probably won’t hug that queer until he repents.
An abomination, remember.
God gave them over to the lust of their minds. Check out Romans 1:18 to 1:32.

Nor will He hug anyone who has not first knelt at the foot of Jesus' cross in humble faith, repentance and acceptance of an all Loving God.

Strong's Concordance
toebah: abomination

The Hebrew word To'ebah is translated into "abomination" 113 times. It describes someone or something as unique in the sense of being sinister, dangerous, and repulsive to another person. "An unjust man is an abomination to the righteous, And he who is upright in the way is an abomination to the wicked." - Proverbs 29:27

abominable (5), abominable act (1), abomination (39), abominations (60), detestable (2), detestable act (1), detestable thing (3), detestable things (3), loathsome (2), object of loathing (1).

First, of course I do it for attention...for faith. Second, I like the Trumpesque "I already have more than once, along with others!" groundless generalities. I am sorry for the Honey Boo Boo reruns comment; no excuse. Third, you have attacked me over my reliance on the Holy Spirit recently. Fourth, Truth is us evolves, hopefully, over the years. What I believe now may evolve, so I do not stand by what I believe but what spirit reveals. Thank you for your opinion.

I too, have adapted my beliefs to what I have recently learned via rhema.
Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the word.
I understand it thusly, if you are newly reborn, you’ve got the rest of your life to become what you will be. There’s no shortcuts. No matter your age.
If you’re a heroin addict, you’ll probably not be urged by the HS to stop smoking cigarettes first. That’ll probably come after the worst addiction.
I don’t have God’s itinerary for me.
That’s okay.
Don’t worry about tomorrow, today is enough.
Thankfully the veil was ripped from top to bottom, allowing me access directly to God thru Jesus.
He will finish what He started.

The word Rhema occurs at least seventy times in the New Testament Greek text, in the gospel of Luke (19 times), the book of Acts (14 times), and the gospel of John (12 times).

Rhema first appears in the New Testament during Jesus' forty-day temptation by Satan. Jesus, after being tempted to perform a miracle to break His fast, and feed himself, responds with the following:

"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word (Rhema) that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'" (Matthew 4:4)

Strong's Concordance (#G4487), Rhema = an utterance (individually, collectively or specifically) on a particular matter or topic.

Thayer's Greek Definitions defines the word as something that has been uttered, in either the past or the present, by a living entity.

The word "rhema"(s)' second appearance is Jesus being accused of casting out demons by the power of Satan himself. He warns that God will hold people accountable for every idle word (Rhema) they speak
(Matthew 12:24, 36).

In the Greek language, the word Logos (Strong's Concordance #G3056) can also be translated into English as "word," in John 1:1, 14, Luke 1:2, etc.

Pentecostal leaders teach that "Rhema" is the Holy Spirit's 'voice' guiding a believer or offering them a special revelation that is not clearly revealed in Scripture.

Charismatic teachers promote the belief that there is a distinct difference between the meaning of this word and "Logos;"

Greek scholars, however, state that the New Testament writers made no such clear distinction between these two terms in their writings.

Thank you,
That expanded my knowledge of the word.
I guess that I have the belief that rhema is simply a word that represents a learned teaching, directly from the HS, to the receiver of that teaching, allowing no possible contradictions.
It’s like when I “see” something in scripture that instantly becomes knowledge and wisdom in me, and I suddenly realize it is TRUE. I’m thereafter unable to forget it and I just know that it is true.

Receiving "something" directly from the Holy Spirit - just as receiving "anything" from the Holy Spirit must be confirmable through God's written Word, just as the Bereans (Acts 17:11) confirmed any new teaching, as not contradicting the Scriptures.

Go back to Jesus' three rebukes of Satan in Matthew 4, while He was fasting in the wilderness. Each temptation was rebuked by Jesus by quoting scripture; Three times Jesus prefaced His response by saying, "It is written."

The devil could only offer the temporal worldly treasures that will pass away, but Jesus sought God's eternal treasures that the devil could not offer... and Satan never argued with God's plumb line, His rule of measure, the written Word!

This plumb line is the standard of justice and righteousness with which God's people were to align themselves. A plumb line would expose anything that is crooked.

We are called to serve God with intellectual honesty, to use our own good judgement, but with discernment, and with God's measurement.
