Encounters with Mediums

The first medium my wife and I saw was a friend of a friend who recommended her highly. Her name was Rita Gylstra, and she was well-known in the DC area. We had separate readings with her so I cannot report on the wife’s reading. The date was about June 1987.

Here are the facts she told me for what they are worth.
1. I am an old soul with 66 past lives.
2. I could become a reader too, if I wanted to.
3. She had a lot to say about my career, but I have forgotten the essence of it. All I remember is, it was quite pleasing to me!
4. She told me that my marriage was strong and would endure.

Comments:
I did have a good career, contributed to many programs, made money, and saw the world too.
The marriage prediction was true. Our marriage lasted 65 years, so far.
Not much to go on here. Rita died in about 2004.

The second medium was a man, and I do not remember his name. Both of us had readings and took lots of notes at his insistence. They were lost in some move or another. The date was September 1973.
Here are his conclusions as I remember them:
1. I will be looking for a job soon! (Outch!)
2. I will work overseas.
3. I will learn a new language.
4. I will live long.
5. I will have a good marriage.
Comments:
1. Six months later, I was told that I should look for another job and was given a month to do so.
2. After considerable searching and turning one down, a naval consultant and retired Captain USN, came to me and offered to sponsor me to a job in Holland. I accepted and we went over to a Philips Subsidiary called Hollandse Signaal Apparaten, where I was hired after a week of talking and presenting. I spent ten years with them.
3. I learned a lot of Dutch, especially technical Dutch.
(Now almost totally forgotten!)
4. I am now 91 My marriage is 65 years old.

Comments: This man’s predictions were startlingly accurate for me.

He also read my wife’s future, and this is all I remember:
1. She will be looking out the window of an empty house with her youngest daughter beside her.
2. She will be flying over the ocean soon.

Comments: This is all I remember, but it dovetails with mine, of course, and she did stay behind to settle the house with our youngest daughter. She remembered looking out of our rear window at our nice landscape from an empty room and the youngest was with her looking also. They were both sad to leave that home! The two of them came over to Holland some three weeks later than I on KLM.

Thanks Manning, very interesting. I believe there are genuine mediums as well as fake. The church and the Bible caution us, however, against consorting with such people (proof that some are genuine) because we may unwittingly invite a bad entity to follow us around.

Blessings to you.

Thank you Roamin, My only conclusion is that they told me truthfully as they saw it, and it "came to pass"!

That is an experience that I have not had but I do believe in world beyond. I've had multiple dreams that deep meaning and a few in which my grandfather came to tell me something with a cryptic message that I later understood.

I would be interested in having such a reading done if I could find someone reputable for a genuine reading.

You make a very good point! I did experience several strange things that forced me to back off quickly during some of our gatherings. Apparently, I was quick enough to avoid any consequences. I may discuss this later.

Outstanding recitation of your experiences.

I have had the pleasure of two as well, one as phony as they come and the second so dead on in what she told me was going to take place every time one of the things she explained materialized I constantly thought of the rest. I had done a recording, voice recording I should say of her session….

She told me I was going to do a lot of traveling, and my husband would do well in his career. At that point she asked me had he passed which I found very strange and I told her no very much alive. She said must’ve been someone else as there was a strong association to another person??

She saw me in a home in the mountains where it snowed but wasn’t sure about the timing. At this time in my life I lived in Atlanta Georgia. But it was not to be there it involved s large move someplace else…

Long story short my husband was a design engineer for Lockheed Martin, a troubleshooter for military aircraft design. We traveled extensively to the different Lockheed Martin locations throughout the country on extended stays, three, six months, a year working on whatever the issue was. ( The eight helicopters that crashed in desert storm. A prime example.) while living in California we had decided we wanted to move to the Ozark mountains because he wanted to slow down the traveling, sell our home in Georgia etc. We found the ideal home, spoke with the realtor for about a month, ultimately wound up going to view the property and made the offer. November we were going to relocate after Spending Thanksgiving in San Diego.. Even put the deposit down on our Home. As we were selling the Georgia location.. So there was the Home in the mountains with snow abundant and a place we always loved going to when we needed a break, vacation or just to get away for a few days.. Always stayed at the Crescent Moon hotel (which by the way I was supposedly haunted. Built in 1886 now known as the Crescent Hotel and Spa, a historical hotel..We got married there…

Unfortunately, suddenly and unexpectedly I lost my husband to a massive heart attack in the living room at the apartment provided by Lockheed Martin, on November 22… There was the confusion of had he passed…No not when she read me but during the things she told me about to come..… As you know timing is always at issue and they are quick to clarify they do not know exactly when just that it is seen in your future…

I've never had a reading. That is something I need to do but I've never looked into it. Maybe one of these days when I find someone who is reputable and someone I know has used them.

Linda, in our exchanges I had wondered about that but did not want to ask since it a delicate topic. I am so sorry that you have had that experience and only hope that you receive the healing and comforting energies that
I sincerely send to you.

The similarities between our experiences are very interesting. I didn't suffer the loss that you did, however,

The most difficult thing to happen with no notice at the ripe age of 46… Giving him CPR waiting, it seemed, forever, before the paramedics arrived....He was not breathing and at one point I heard and felt a breath thinking finally… Ultimately it was that final breath…(Heard to this day..) But ever so grateful to have been there.. I buried him the same day of our marriage, Dec 5 th…There, “the complete cycle of a love and life so great” how very fortunate I truly was to have had him… And he left me with a beautiful, loving , caring son who now “ takes care of me…”Miss him terribly but sustained by everything he left me in his love..

Thank You for your kind words and know I truly appreciate you…

You are a strong and valuable asset to society Linda. Maybe a hint into the question of "why are we here" ?
