What the democrats are now proposing is not the 1976 public funding choice. Try to keep current before posting stupid comments.

Wrong again. You batting average is very poor today. Republican states have actually expanded and codified voting access over what existed pre-pandemic.

The entire purpose of the Electoral College, and state control of voting is to prevent one or two populous states from dictating to the others. A democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what's for supper. A Republic, such as we have, is two wolves and a sheep with a gun voting on the same thing. The Electoral College and state control of elections are that gun. To say that all of a sudden, the same voting process we have had for all these years is suppressive is disingenuous in the extreme. Most of the supposedly disenfranchised people who have no ID receive some sort of government stipend for which ID suitable for voting is REQUIRED. To insist that you prove you are whom you say is not suppression; it is protection.
Colorado's mail in voting was instituted about twenty years ago when the state had a small population and fairly low voter turnout. easy to monitor and fix the bugs. 2020 was the highest turnout in out history with bandaids everywhere.

Smedley, The Electoral College came about because many of the founding fathers didn't trust the " mob ". It came about around the time of the Whiskey Rebellion.

Right, they have one polling place in minority areas and hundreds in affluent areas. Georgia does not want anyone to give water to the people stuck in line for sometimes eight hours.

And has worked quite well for 200+ years.

Wrong again and again. If you are referring to the district in Ga that went from 7 voting places to 1 voting place, that is a majority white district with 7000 residents in rural Ga.

Not just anyone can provide it, but, water will be available to anyone who wants it.

And.... Wait for it.... Wrong again. I can't answer to the accuracy of those articles or whether they are factual and non-partisian. Though this one excerpt from your first article seems to spell out the very misinformation they are twisting to present a false narrative.

From the very article you presented, "...the nine states that were once covered by the law have slashed 2,811 polling locations, most of them in the last four years, according to an investigation by VICE News. Those numbers mirror a nationwide trend, where nearly 21,000 polling locations shuttered across the country between 2016 and 2020".

That adds up to 312 closures across the nine states in question, including Georgia and other southern states. Meanwhile the 21000 closures spread across the other 47 states including all blue states averages out to 446 per state. Those nine states were well below the national average. I fail to see what the issue is based on the very article you cited other than the misinterpretation of the very facts used by those writing the article.

You, my friend, are sooo misinformed.
I suggest you edify yourself without propaganda involved.
ID protects, does not suppress.
