The Online Marketing Ploy of the Day

The dangers of getting old and having underlying conditions are being enhanced by some unscrupulous marketing ploys. Anyone with hypertension, for instance, would find a sales pitch on the internet designed specially to drag him in. Let me give you a bare-bones outline of the quite common pitch.

First, a 40ish man comes online, and he has suffered, he says, from high blood pressure for years. But now he has it under control. He wants to share his experience with you, and how he managed to improve his health dramatically.

Then he shows you several shots of happy couples that have supposedly followed his lead to health. You need to watch this video all the way, he says, to find out just how you can benefit from this breakthrough.
Then he goes through his trials and tempests with his own blood pressure, and it is geared to sound just like you probably have experienced. Your interest rises.

By some fortuitous event, he discovers usually an Asian man that seems wise and informed about ancient cures his tribe or group have practiced for centuries in the hinterlands of his country. The Asian tells him of the various natural medicines they use, leading to a list of six or eight exotic plants grown mostly in this hinterland, or in hard to access places, that have almost miracle curative properties for high blood pressure.

So, this starts a liturgy of finding a nice, warm-looking doctor to help the host to better understand the powers in the plants.

Next, you are told you could go online and find the same plants, but it would cost you a bundle to assemble them all. Further, you don’t know the right mix of the plants for maximum effectiveness.

The nice doctor always has a connection with a pharmaceutical manufacturer that is well-qualified to reduce the plants and create pills with just the right mix in them. Then they come up with some additions to the formula that make it far more effective in reducing blood pressure and help your other ills as well. Sounds so good!

The pitch man then comes on and asks you how much is it worth to you to cure your problem, a thousand dollars? Five hundred dollars? One hundred dollars? Today, he says, he is going to offer you a deal, three bottles of the pills, for only $49/each, and you need the three month’s supply for the effects to do maximum good.
I am sure that many people are hooked by now, and rush to buy and join the hundreds of thousands of satisfied users the host has claimed have bought into this cure.

Here is the kicker! The exact same technique, step-by-step, has been offered online for just about every illness we can incur, including Dementia; Diabetes; Failing eyesight; Brain fog; Heart, Fungus; and your Intestines! You name it!

To top it off, the technique has been adopted by stock salesmen touting their secret systems for winning in the market. Again, step-by-step!

The most amusing pitch I found was a host touting his "Pinch Method" that you could use every morning for ten seconds. Turns out he means pinch one of his pills, pick it up and take it!

Yes, I watched several of them all the way, and spent literally hours at it just to satisfy myself that the technique was being used every time and for all the ills I listed. I was never disappointed! I do wonder just what is in the pills they hawk! Sugar?

Beware!

Well , Manning, you deserve a lot of credit for having the patience to watch even several of them so that you could post this . Those that fall for B.S. pitch masters probably won't be dissuaded though.
But as always , a good post.

But... Have you taken one? How about the ones where they say "were sorry to hear about .. and name a celebrity. If you click on it you find out they didn't die they are just too busy making CBD oil or a cosmetic product that they have no time for acting?
A lot of copycats in advertising.

A lot of good can come from just ingesting certain natural plants raw..

I've seen some pretty cool stuff over here...

Brought my aunt a root/tubor plant that she can use to make a tincture that is amazing for arthritis and cartilage loss...

=======================================

Of course, some plants have healthy impact. My post was strictly about the sales gimmicks being pulled on the web.
