With this kind of nonsense, I personally have stopped paying for their IDEALOGY.

I stopped donating to Salvation Army when they wouldn’t accept any donation unless it was in perfect condition. In perfect condition, I’ll just keep it.

Better to give to your local food banks. No telling what the SA does with your donations.

I agree. Giving shouldn't be a requisite to their idealogy. Also local food banks help your community you live in.

I’ve always given to them. No longer, and I will tell them why.

Let's look at the facts. The Salvation Army is one of the best charities in America with virtually all donated money going to helping others. On that they should be applauded. Their overhead and executive salaries are minimal compared to so many other charities and phony fronts.

But to tell me that, as I contribute I should apologize to blacks for my white racism is beyond belief. It the SA is racist, perhaps they should apologize. I have nothing to apologize for. I treat all races equally. Perhaps those very blacks I'm supposed to apologize to, should take a long hard look in a mirror, and think about all of the opportunities like affirmative action and minority set asides they squandered. Perhaps they ought to take a long hard look at all of the welfare and free education they squandered. Perhaps they should take a long hard look at all the money donated to Black Lives Matter that saw virtually nothing going to blacks. Accept the founders and their multiple multi million dollar homes. Perhaps they ought to look at all of those great black athletes and musicians that they supported all along, and moved away from other blacks as quickly as they could, and moved into all white areas. And gave nothing back to the community they demand we give to. Perhaps they should look at the democrat party that promised them everything and as soon as the votes were counted they forgot them until the next election

You blew it. Salvation Army. Nothing from me, thanks to your insult. Your ill timed and ill placed criticism reminds me of an old expression. "Open Mouth, insert foot, chew firmly." Bye bye.

That must've been a personal incident. I've never known the Salvation Army to refuse money.
Incidentally, the Salvation Army is the ONLY charity that I will give to because about 90% of the donations go to help people. Contrary to the Red Cross where 90% of the donations go to staff, especially the CEO. That's true of every other charity. United Way and Red Cross pay their CEOs $millions!!!

I'm also very pro-Salvation Army. I'll never shop at Target again (or anywhere else) because they stopped allowing the SA red buckets at Xmas time.

That's ONLY in Australia. And that's where the military is attempting to round up the indigenous people.

We give good condition used clothing to Goodwill. Salvation Army charges more for used clothing, and Goodwill sells a lot of good condition, used furniture, appliances and knick-knacks at reasonable prices. My son acquired some of his used furniture there when he was attending college.

Goodwill gets everything free and charges for 2nd hand merchandise. They're making bucks and not giving anything back to the community.

FYI: My neighbor bought an antique-looking painting from the Goodwill. Unfortunately, it came with poltergeist.

I wasn't aware of this. Thanks for the heads up!
