Why the Rittenhouse Case Has Changed Everything

Initially, I, like many here on OPP, felt that while Rittenhouse had the right to defend himself, it was probably not a wise course of action for him to take. I've read the following "account/opinion piece", and changed my view on this matter.

"Now we have videos of Kyle Rittenhouse with an AR-15 slung around his shoulder as he waded into a riot-plagued community to hand out bandages and protect property. In the summer of 2020, the mobs ruled and nobody dared oppose them. They toppled beautiful works of statutory art. They burned businesses and even a police station. They seized real governmental control over several city blocks in one of the country’s most important cities. Revolutionaries established other “autonomous zones,” in Washington, D.C., Portland Oregon, and Asheville, North Carolina. Nobody dared enforce rules regarding private property, social distancing, curfews, or even murder.

A year later, the rule of law has finally begun to reassert itself. When the Rittenhouse trial judge dismissed the gun charge, it may have spelled doom for the prosecution’s theory of the case. The charge was key to muddying the self-defense theory, and recasting Kyle to look like an aggressor for the mere fact that he possessed the firearm. Like his leftist overlords, the prosecutor has pushed the “he-shouldn’t-have-been-there-with-a-gun” narrative as justification for convicting Rittenhouse. On that night, the streets belonged to the righteous mob. Anyone who opposed anything the mob did was, by then-candidate Biden’s definition, a white supremacist."

Perhaps it was foolish for one 17 year old to stand up to a "mob" seeking to rob, loot, burn and destroy businesses and personal property. But maybe, just maybe, this event is a catalyst that represents a change of everything.

It’s my understanding one cannot claim self defense in a situation whereby was created by the defendant. If your mommy drops you off at a flaming full blown riot, you immediately become a participant in the riot.
This now prevents you from claiming self defense . And mommy knew too and should also be charged .

Psych evaluation before sentencing.

The key words here Milosia2 are "It’s my understanding". What you are saying that the rioters/looters/destroyers of personal property had a right to be there, and do their dastardly deeds, but anyone else who is trying to stop the said rioting/looting/destruction looses the right to defend himself/herself because..... what?

The real people that should be put on trial are all those governmental officials who told the police to stand down and allow the looting/destruction to go on. They failed in their responsibility, and in a just society, they would be held accountable.

Here’s one of the most important statements of the article in my opinion:

Americans saw that the media lied to them about the facts of the case. While that suits many, even a few leftists expressed shock and surprise at the level of deception.”

This is an indictment long, long overdo against the mainstream media, which lying, dishonest, biased media, the leftists, especially, though not exclusively, quote as if they were the inerrant audible words from God out of heaven.

If we could just effectively hold politicians and journalists completely accountable for their lies, with very strong fines and incarceration as appropriate to the level of harm for the guilty, we could go a long way in improving the divide in this country. I’d even go so far as saying that, without that, we’ll never have a chance to know or realize any true solution otherwise.

But that ain’t gonna happen as long as we the people are so easily swayed by their false promises.

Honesty and integrity MUST be the rock bottom, immovable foundation, first and foremost of all social interaction, period. And until that is the strongest and highest priority of all social mores, we will continue to deserve being lied to… because that—that we are willing to be, and so easily are, lied to—is what enables and empowers all those in power who are steadily demolishing our basic human rights for the sake of their own profit and power. And now, with their view of “the metaverse” now openly on the table, where they own all the goods and intend to charge the rest of us to live in a fantasy land of their creation and control, this can no longer be excused as “conspiracy theory”.

This (culture of lying and deception) shouldn’t be a left and right issue. This allowing of the culture of lying is the one major shortcoming above all of “we the people” that allows sick politicians (bought and paid for by globalist elites) to keep us divided and give us the appearance that we need them…when the complete opposite is the truth.

Here’s another article that needs to be taken into consideration:

During the riot ruled by angry mobs who threatened innocent people and burned businesses, Rittenhouse was the only person who killed someone. I hope the Rittenhouse decision does not tell other vigilante kids that it is OK to kill people you disagree with.

What an idiotic statement!

So, if your next door neighbor was being robbed and raped, and you found out the police weren’t even willing to intervene, and you decided to do nothing, you’d morally be in the right. But, if your neighbor who lived on the other side of the victim, went in to aid your victim-neighbors, and ended up having to defend him or herself, you’d claim the robbers and rapists had every right to proceed with their crime and shoot anyone getting in their way without fear of anyone defending themselves or others against them, and therefore you would blame your other (hero) neighbor for being the real perpetrator of violence in this scenario?

And that’s the way you think?

The really scary part is that people with your mindset and lack of reasoning ability vote and sit on juries!

I’m sorry to be so harsh, but I believe it is entirely warranted in this situation to try to jolt you into some sense of reality.

When the policing powers that are hired and paid to protect “we the people” decide they aren’t interested in performing their duties, I guess you’re perfectly willing to let chaos prevail?

Lemming.

Honesty and integrity MUST be the rock bottom of all social interaction. We all watched a pro-Trump mob attack our Capitol building and all our Government officials on January 6 in an attempt to overthrow their own government. Now the U.S. House Committee investigating the January 6 crimes MUST be encouraged to finish their work. Republican interference MUST stop.

The lies of the media haven’t taught you anything, have they?

If you don’t see the blatant double standards going on, YOU are part of the problem.

Are you absolutely certain that the incident was not sparked by Antifa goons pretending to be Trump supporters? I'm not!
