As you may or may not remember the last few weeks were a bit tense for me and mine..

My grand daughter, her fiancée and their little girl of 10 months all got sick, the adults with covid and the little one with the sniffles..

So, we took custody of the big brother.. now 2nd grader.. was fun to have him with us, he is a good kid, but like nearly all kids wants things his way or no way.. but we got things done, he helped pile and burn debris from summer storms.. nearly got it done before last nights snow.. oh well..

Now he is gone to dads house and all of his own house are well and active. so everyone is happy..

Then to add icing to the cake, the sons who with wives and such went to London for a couple weeks got back, different planes so different times. great to see them, and all went better then well, no terrorists, no covid, they all met the requirements.. and they had nothing but a fine time.. my daughter in law was sparkling with the good times when she talked to my wife..

And I am enjoying both events, recover and return,,, makes my heart sing... Yeahoo!!

Also the last weekend of rifle deer hunting , so the last hunter departed this late morning, returning to the city.. But he had no deer.. say a number but none wanted.. that big swamp buck remains as king..

Grand son did get one, not the right one and a bit of an accident, he still has a bow license. good to Jan 1st..

Hi Perm Amazing how these young folks take to Bows and Arrows, I have a granddaughter that is an expert with one, I just can't believe a young girl having such accuracy, and its good to see another old man with the same successes only with a male. Good luck with all that Perm.

Glad to hear your folks are all well up there in the freezer, Permi. Them little kids are fun, but, damned if they can't be a little demanding now days. I'm glad you got some work out of him! Kudos on you for that!

Good news in our family too. Yesterday, our 8th grandkid was born. A boy, 6lbs, 5oz. Mama, and baby in perfect health. The REALLY good news for me is Mama had her tubes tied this morning so we can put a stop to this shit! This one makes 8 grandkids for us, and that's plenty!
Mrs. Bunker is at the hospital now visiting them. She wanted me to go, but someone needs to stay home, and swat flies, and I am a fly sniper.
Snow ya say?
I know I ask it every year, and you forget; but this year, before it gets too late, would you drag your lazy decrepit ass out of that chair, and go close that North gate?
We don't like cold, and snow here!!

Glad to hear that things have turned the corner for you, Frosty. We're doing OK but my wife just learned she needs a revision of her 16 yr old right knee replacement. Not what we wanted to hear, but that's the way it appears to be. We sometimes get a bit rowdy here on OPP but when the smoke clears, I think most are empathetic. Stay warm up there.

that start em young idea is very true. he started at about 14 or so and when I took him to a range, was truly impressed how well he shot.. he was not at all , said he had a long way to go.. He has hunted before and taken 3 maybe 4 deer over the years... I like the sport, nice to know your girl is a fine archer.. good for her..

Archie,, No more kids, stop at 8... But one more and you could have your own baseball team...LOL think of all the slogans you could come up with...

You know, with the first real snow last night and a bit more coming.. maybe I will keep the gate open so we can dash down to the sunny south one day.. any day... as you may suspect, getting the rear end up to do anything gets more and more of an adventure for us old guys..

I find myself liking snow and cold less each year..
