stated in the Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3: No Person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

If the January 6 Commission finds any elected Official guilty, they should be out.

Yet, people like these set the direction our country would move if the orange got their way..
Yet, people like these set the direction our count...

I agree and it also should be applied to any government employee or agent thereof found to have directed others, incited, incentivized, aided or abetted the peaceful protest on January 6 which resulted in the death of Ashley Babbitt, an unarmed, 5'4", 130lb female civilian at the hands or a coward, clumsy Capitol Policeman. Had this occurred to a black person by a white cop on the streets of Chitcago, we know what would have happened.

At least one of the fine folks pictures is confirmed to be and FBI operator.

That doesn't even make sense.

Have someone who speaks fluent English and has graduated high school help you construct a coherent comment.

Hold on a sec!

It would " fix the government of these United States nicely, if we followed" Section 3 of the 14th amendment?

Good Lord, do you really believe this would be the "fix"? You do, don't you?

We know that leftists are constitutional illiterates, that they are virtually ignorant of the principles embedded in the Foundation of our nation, and they never fail to show it, but, Wow, man, you really lowered the bar with this foolishness.

BTW, Permyfool, I am still waiting for you to explain your lies...

"you also think the very rich do not need to pay tax"
Of course, you could provide some post/evidence/proof I said that or just remain a proven liar.

"I did not mean to say daddy trump worked for the government.. he used the federal financing to build housing, the defrauded the govt."
Got anything to back up that blatant lie, permy?

What is Section 3 of the 14th Amendment?
Ratified in the aftermath of the Civil War, Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment explicitly disqualifies any person from public office who, having previously taken an oath as a federal or state office holder, engaged in insurrection or rebellion.Feb 26, 2021

February 26, 2021 Press Release

WASHINGTON ā€“ Congressman Steve Cohen (TN-09), the Chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties, today introduced a measure to enforce Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment prohibiting those who have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the United States from holding public office.

Ratified in the aftermath of the Civil War, Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment explicitly disqualifies any person from public office who, having previously taken an oath as a federal or state office holder, engaged in insurrection or rebellion. This disability can only be removed by a two-thirds vote of each House of Congress. Having lived through that violent rebellion, the framers of Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment were concerned that office holders who had engaged in insurrection might again serve in the very State and Federal governments they had previously sought to violently overthrow.

Congressman Cohen made the following statement:

ā€œThe January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol demonstrates that the concerns that prompted ratification of the Fourteenth Amendment remain relevant today. On that day, a mob violently stormed the United States Capitol in an attempt to impede the constitutional function of our democracy and overturn the 2020 election results. This was the first time the Capitol had been invaded since the War of 1812. It is important that we enforce the constitutional provision establishing that any office holders who violated their oaths of office and engaged in this insurrection cannot be trusted with public office.ā€

The legislation introduced today would create a modern mechanism to enforce this section of the Constitution through a cause of action for the Attorney General before a three-judge panel. Should the Attorney General prove, by clear and convincing evidence, that an officeholder or former officeholder engaged in insurrection or rebellion, that individual would be disqualified from holding public office.

Also under this legislation, disqualified individuals would forfeit any benefits derived from their service in federal office and would be prohibited from obtaining contracts with the federal government. The bill also amends the Former Presidents Act so that an individual disqualified under Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment pursuant to this legislation would not be considered a ā€œformer Presidentā€ for the purpose of receiving benefits under the Act.

Not a lie in the bunch...

You only try and force your wishes and dreams as facts..

No one with a single brain cell would ever go along with your orange smoke and mirrors..

But while you live to put trump back in the oval, the nation made a statement in the 2020 election. We fired his criminal ass , In time? remains to be seen.. but we most forcefully fired his useless and morbid blob, removed his stinking carcass from the office and will see that he never returns.. when you stop championing him, we the real Americans will stop talking about his huge mess..

Ashley Babbitt, died as an enemy of the state. A an armed infiltrator into our halls of governence. She died as a traitor to our constitution. she previously took an oath to defend. Ashley Babbitt is not a patriot. A hero , a fine American, that anyone should emulate to being. She died as an insurrectionist with plans to overthrow a valid legal government. Her seditionists behavior got her killed.
I donā€™t know what she was thinking, nor do I care. I find her to be a disgrace as an American. Not a martyr by any means. I hope there was no flag draped over her casket. Nor military honors of any sort .
I feel this way about the same comedians who keep trying to defend her seditionists behavior. They are no different. Enemies of the Constitution. Seditionists, traitors,
And all should be hanged. To prove to their offspring is the wrong way to behave in a free country.
We like our freedom here, contrary to the nonsense the right canā€™t let go of.
I still hear banging of the drums on the right, and think they are misinformed.
They already know this, proof is a total lack of MAGA hats.
Why do they think they can continuously call people liars that are not liars.
Sensible people can become quickly incensed being called liars, when in fact they are not.
