Things Conservatives Believe That Liberals Don't...And Why That Is

We are looking at a crisis of misinformation and lies...we the people can't seem to figure out what is the facts and truth and what they are hearing is lies...People are believing things that should result in people being locked up and treated for severe mental disorders.

That is the difference between beliefs and facts. Facts have nothing to do with beliefs, facts don't have to have anything to do with what you happen to already believe...but the reality is that someone who forms beliefs without
the benefit of verifiable facts will reject facts that do not fit beliefs they have already formed. Beliefs form a barrier that facts cannot easily cross.

The hard right is rejecting anything that they do not want to believe, starting with not wanting to believe that trump could have possibly lost the election. This is creating an alternative reality where people, wanting to believe trump didn't actually lose, are susceptible to believing some things that are loony tunes crazy...anyone taking a step back and taking a look at the ridiculousness of some of the things would have to admit they had lost sight of reality.

In the trumper's world...
#1 Example of certifiably severe mental disorder would be the long list of superlative descriptive traits of trump himself...he is a truly loathsome example of humanity, he does everything he does in ways that nobody with a functioning brain could ever like. He never once fired any of the dozens of people he wanted fired in a way that even came close to being honorable. He fired people because they told the truth and that didn't jive with what he wanted them to say. Anyone that talks about the wonderful characteristics of trump is either a liar or so severely delusional as to be dysfunctional....the man is a creep.
...trump really won the election even though it was certified for Biden and it is over
...Vaccines in the "mind" of vaxxers have a long list of Bat Guano crazy conspiracy theories that they are stuck with
...trump saved the economy, even though it was doing very well and he made some epic and expensive blunders
...tax cuts did something for working class americans, we can't figure out what
...trump was not beholden to Putin in a sick and submissive way

In the coming days, we will be seeing people who are not trapped in their misguided beliefs coming around as the truth and facts become ever more hard to deny.

I'm glad that you and folks like you spend/waste your time contriving and composing trivial, unsubstantiated, myopic opinions. Meanwhile, your puppet master uses you for bait.

Well, friend, Trump did not lose the election. Plans to get rid of him started in January of 2017 by none other than Fauci.

Would that be like the Big Lie of the 2016 election? You know, the one where you Dems accused Trump of colluding with Russians? The one you appointed a special investigative team of 19 lawyers (15 of whom were Democrats, three were independents and one a Republican[Mueller]), 40 FBI agents, intelligence analysts, and forensic accountants, issued 2,800 subpoenas and executed close to 500 search warrants, and interviewed 500 witnesses? The investigation that cost taxpayers 32 million dollars and lasted 22 months with a final conclusion that there was no Russian collusion AT ALL? That "Big Lie"??

You Dems have attacked, harassed, stonewalled and tried to censor President Trump for his whole presidency You charged (impeached) him twice for things he DID NOT do...and was acquitted (found not guilty of) of those charges. And you wonder why he thinks you used fraud to get rid of him in 2020????

Are you THAT clueless???

Shouldn't you be out building fence instead of talking smack on the innerweb?
You're a straight up fraud, and spreader of lies due to your anonymousity here.
You won't face a man eye to eye.
You, sir, are a straight up liar.
Once again sir, consider your cowardly self slapped with the glove.

I agree, though I'm not sure of whatever's going on with Putin.

One of the things that Republicans, including Trump, seem to do a lot, is cut taxes for corporations and wealthy people, and spend even more on the military than Democrats do. These two things ((1) cutting taxes for corporations and the rich people, and (2) high spending on the military) are the biggest, or at least among the biggest, causes of the deficits. The Democrats inherit the deficits from the Republicans, and get blamed for them.

I believe that the "too big to fail" notion comes mainly from the Republican side, which claims to believe that the way to help everybody is to give money to the richest people (even bailing them out when they fail, or when they do wrong, and using the money from the poor and middle class to bail out the rich people) (most lobbyists and big donors like that). I have an opposing thought. Instead of "too big to fail", a more sensible theme is "too many to fail". It is better to aim to support the general well-being rather than to aim to support the well-being of the rich.

Another thing I've noticed about Republicans is that they pack the Supreme Court in the most obvious way and then loudly proclaim that the Democrats want to "pack the court". And a lot of Republican citizens just lap that up, not realizing or not acknowledging that Republicans have packed the court. It's an example of the general phenomenon of doing a thing while accusing somebody else of doing it.

Better get your facts straight. Nominating and putting judges on the SCOTUS is NOT "packing" it.

What the democrats want to do is to add additional judges (up to 15) - that is 'packing'. FDR tried it.

No wonder the sleepy sock-puppet Biden is president.

I started to put together the facts, then realized I was wasting my time. Do a little research on the auto bailouts of 1978, 2008/09 and the TARP bailout. You will find it to be even handed from a party responsibility standpoint.

As for supreme court packing, you need to learn what that actually means.

That phenom thing you speak of is "projection." The dems are the pros at that. Accusing Trump of collusion with Russia while both HRC and Biden actually did.

Refusing to hold a hearing for almost a year, and then rushing a hearing in a very short time, is how Republicans, including Lindsay Graham and most especially Mitch McConnell, did what _I_ call packing the court. They distorted the timing like that to prevent Obama's pick from even getting a hearing, but they behaved oppositely to rush Trump's nominee much nearer to the end of _his_ term. The result is that the court has 3 picks from Trump's 4 years in office, and 2 picks from Obama's 8 years in office (would have been 3 but for the Republican-led Senate refusing to hold a hearing for Merrick Garland, for almost a year, and then the chance for Garland expired.)

If the Republican-led Senate had waited even a fourth as long to hold Amy Comey-Barrett's confirmation hearing as it waited to hold Merrick Garland's confirmation hearing (that one was delayed almost a year, designed to be never, and effectively never), then there would have been 2 justices picked during Trump's 4-year administration and 2 from Obama's 8-year administration.

But they didn't wait, they rushed the Comey-Barrett confirmation hearing.

The result is that we have 6 "conservative" justices and 3 "liberal" justices. So the "conservative" justices are in a kind of supermajority. This may have very _long_ consequences as justices have life terms.

What I read was a fairly modest suggestion that the court be increased to 11 justices. This would (if unobstructed by the Senate) allow Biden to appoint two, presumably what we call "liberal" ones. Then there'd be 6 "conservatives" and 5 "liberals". In that scenario, the "conservatives" would still have a majority, but not an overwhelming "supermajority".

Even more modestly, Biden wanted to appoint a bipartisan committee to study the matter for several months before making any changes at all.

Under the reasoning that an overwhelming "conservative" power is better than some more evenly balanced "conservative-liberal" power, Mitch McConnell (if backed by Republican majorities in both houses) upon resuming power may decide to increase the court to 11, when there's a Republican president, so that he can shoehorn in a couple more "conservatives", increasing the supermajority to 8 "conservatives" to 3 "liberals". Would that be packing the court or not? There's nothing in the constitution that requires the court to be just 9 justices. Don't forget what you think now, of this scenario, because Mitch McConnell might really do such a thing if he lives long enough; we've already heard his excuse: "You would do it too." (That's what he said regarding stalling Garland and rushing Barrett; and such an excuse would work as well in any other situation.) And we've already heard Lindsay Graham saying "Use my words against me" and then doing the opposite of what he had said. We've learned what sort of behavior to expect from them.

Doesn't matter what you call it.

People are entitled to their opinions - no matter how crazy or non-factual. Heck, there are ELWNJ that believe biden is a "good" President.

Republicans blocked and stonewalled everything Obama said and did, so cry me a river about how Trump was "persecuted". The SCOTUS was missing one justice for almost a year because McConnell said to wait for the next president to nominate someone, yet McTurtle railroaded through Barrett's confirmation in the last minutes of the Trump admin.
The impeachments were a sham because the Republican majority refused to allow witnesses to testify.
