A furious backlash to Biden, Garland plan

I’m very glad to see that Attorney General Merrick Garland’s plan to engage federal, state and local law enforcement to intimidate parents who protest the actions of leftist schools boards is being met with the overwhelming furious backlash it deserves. One commentator said this might be the straw that broke the camel’s back (sorry for triggering any animal lovers) for the Democrats’ dwindling hopes in the midterm elections. This is such an outrageous assault on the most basic rights of all citizens to engage in free speech and protest, and of all parents to have a say in how their children are educated, that the outrage cuts across all political and racial lines.

To be clear: I'm not defending anyone who makes actual physical threats against school board members. But Garland cited no examples of actual threats to justify this. Instead, his statement included vague and overly broad terms such as “harassment” and “intimidation,” which signals that this is really an abuse of power designed to chill free speech. He also offered no justification for literally making a federal case out of these hypothetical threats, which are already covered by laws and police on the local level. The only reasons to federalize this are to assert more control in picking targets and to ramp up the intimidation factor (ironically, Garland is the one who seems to be guilty of attempting to harass and intimidate people.)

The Democrat way. It gets worse every time one of them gets into office.

I for one am sick and tired of these boorish clueless loudmouths threatening school boards and public health officials. There is a crisp line between stating your opinion during public comment time at open meetings and disrupting official business and threatening the lives of public servants and elected officials. The latter fits the definition of making terrorist threats and should be treated as such.

Lest we forget; “official business” is the people’s business and the people are finally actively involved.

And is rare and should be handled at the local level.

You are just sick and tired of people with common sense disagreeing with your ELWNJ agenda.

Telling them you will hold them accountable and vote them out is only terrorism in the minds of liberals.

You mean like the ones at the Capital "Protesters continue to interrupt Kavanaugh hearings"? I don't remember you railing against those!

And yet it's okay for democrat funded protesters to throw bricks and molotov cocktails at police or chain the doors of a police station shut and try to burn the police within. Go figure. Maybe parents should start demanding to defund the school boards or the DOJ. Makes as much sense as defund the police. Hypocrisy abounds.

Are you a "communist?" This question is rhetorical. As you are part of the local minority of the population that attitudinally supports an overbearing bureaucratic empowered government you have made yourself an enemy to freedom. You need to wake up to reality. Life is short lived, and you will not be remembered for anything except the lies you proclaim.

Well, if in fact we take a look election officials he's just trying to cut it off at the pass...threatening speech is threatening speech. Whether it's directed at anyone-matters not. And that has been a case at school board meetings. The only reason why white people hate free speech is if it infringes on their right to be angry....and can never correlate the two. Also, if theses voices could provide actionable inteligence-than maybe they might be heard.
Mike Huckabee can go suck on eggs. How does that make you feel? Are you scared?

You've never had children of your own, so your imputation falls into the irrelevant pile.

I say, cool, let's let everybody take off their masks and let the pieces fall where they may. Let hospitals insurance companies have a clause for people who didn't get vaccinated and landed in the hospital for a month and cover their own cost. I mean why should the insurance co. cover someone who had the prevention at his fingertips. Kinda like not wearing a seat belt. Let them put their own children's life at risk.

Two things untrue there, one, it does matter who the threat is directed to, how can it not be, a personal attack is a personal attack, second no, many whites including myself is not about anger but what IS making them angry and usually thought to be an injustice, and I see that on all people of color, and I suppose non color as now I guess that must be how we consider whites, interesting don't you think. If we think about it, all people are not people of color, but actually shades and tints, LOL Maybe next we should go to a spice rack, or salt pepper, garlic, etc, go to breads. Just how ridiculous do we want to get?

Let’s do it! But let’s not forget to have people who are obese, overweight, lead an unhealthy life style and have heart disease cover their cost as well. After all, they had simple preventions at their fingertips. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the US.

Surprising that suicide has stayed relativly stable.. so sad.

good information, but as I view it. the insurance companies have long refused to pay or even cover those with many of these major deseses..

But than , along came Obama care and saved the day.. also called the ACA...

we used to seem many arguments for excluding those with these many high cost health problems..

NO, we can not go back to those days..
