Fit, My problem with Donald Is not so much because of his policies, although I disagree with the majority of them. My problem with him is with his behavior both in office and before he became President.

Many conservatives are less than enthusiastic about how he conducts himself as an individual.. But we were aware of these behaviors before we chose to support him...

One of the traditional values of conservatives that I do agree with is constraint of federal spending. I believe that Trump has spent more than any other President.

Firstly, Trump has not spent as much as the past two POTUSs... Yet...

Secondly, you are aware that the budget is not set by the POTUS, yes?

I also agree with the policy of not allowing uncontrolled entry of aliens into the country. I do believe that immigrants have made this country great. Just read the poem on the Statue of Liberty.

And I'm betting that you can't name a single Trump policy that would prevent legal immigration...

The poem on the statue of liberty says nothing about illegal entry... In those days immigrants were required to enter the country at points of entry and fill out all of them proper paperwork... And many were denied entry...

He is building the wall at an outrageous cost, he even raided money from the Defense Department. He could do as much by using technology like drones and cameras. This wall can't keep the wind out, how can it keep determined undocumented workers from going under it, around it, over it , or through it?

Outrageous? A one time expenditure that is proven to be an effective method of curtailing illegal immigration? Just ask Israel, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, or Mexico if border walls are effective...

Raided? He transferred funds that were under his authority... Hyperbole much?

Drones and cameras are being incorporated and utilized by the border patrol... What makes you think they aren't?

But they are not an effective deterrent... And are not cost effective over 2000 miles of border... Remember, you dislike the horrendous cost of border security... And these methods are ongoing...

By building the wall, cameras, drones, and border patrol agents can be freed up to focus on the most vulnerable areas of the border...

Illegal immigrants aren't the wind... But if the wall curtails illegal crossings by only 10% it will have paid for itself in only one year...

FYI... The vast majority of border crossed aren't experienced climbers or miners... And bringing the proper equipment through the desert without being spotted by patrol agents, drones, cameras, or seismic monsters is no easy feat...

Quote:
I also believe that we should allow people seeking immunity from terrible dictators and gangs. That called humanity.

The Trump policies in no way prohibit individuals from applying for asylum... They may do so at American embassies or border crossings... The Trump policies do require that they meet the criteria set by the UN and the US for asylum... And that the individuals apply in the legal way...

That's called rule of law...

But don't forget that the Marxist Socialists that run the Democrat party do not believe that the rule of law applies to them if they don't want it to do so.

When I was young I voted for Ronald Reagan and that ended up being a huge mistake because it was Reagan where the ideas that led up to Nafta began. I was working in a town that was devastated by Nafta. America was doing fine without allowing the rich and powerful access to dirt cheap labor overseas.

With that said. I don't see me ever voting Republican again due to the current crop of Demagoguery loving Republican Politicians.

They have sold a base on the idea that their brand of Capitalism is pure Capitalism when it is really graft.

We are subsidizing big business just so they can funnel the money into the Republican Party inside dark pacs that were created out of legislation they forced through called Citizens United. That legislation gives the rights of a person to a corporation and its a frickin piece of paper that doesn't breathe.

The Republicans today are starting to rue the fact that the politicians don't work for them to which all I can say is duh!

They backed the very legislation that did that because they were told to by the very people that told them that Democrats were Liberal Evil they should resist. Democrats are the best of freedom loving Capitalists that don't believe is subsidies for businesses that should survive on their own.

Republicans were in trouble with their corporation first ideology so they used big money to sell it to politicians who stood to gain from it in power and that has corrupted our political system to the core.

For that reason: No more Republicans for me.
