Here is America, so take heart: Ind. Boys 'Immediately Stop' Riding Their Bikes to Honor Fallen Veteran After Seeing His Funeral
Two young boys in Indiana are being praised for their thoughtfulness, after they stopped riding their bikes to honor a fallen veteran at his funeral.
Jacqi Hornbach shared the sweet story about the boys in Facebook post over the weekend, a few days after witnessing their kind gesture.
While dog-sitting for a friend last Thursday and enjoying the nice weather, Hornbach said she spotted a funeral procession entering the cemetery across the street. That funeral was for 89-year-old United States Army veteran Charles Everett Yorn, Hornbach told Fox News.
Not long after, Hornbach said two boys came down the street on their bikes just as "Taps", the bugle call played at military funerals, was being performed.
"These two young men were riding their bikes and saw the flag of the deceased military man," she recalled in her post. "They immediately stopped riding, got off their bikes, and stood with respect as TAPS was being played."

I appreciate the sharing of this experience. Some of us have brought our children up to be respectful and what to show respect for. All children of veterans and retirees and their children’s children particularly.

Yes, but to see such independent respect by 11 year old kids, without any prompting, gives me great hope that the spirit of who we are as a nation will survive and come to thrive again, against all the severe undermining of the GOP.

I am surprised that you didn't bring Trump into the conversation. Thanks for not bringing politics up

Unfortunately, I never said there was no politics in this picture. Trump and his MAGA henchmen have brought America to its breaking point. The beauty of this democracy has been deeply marred both by his sick persona and policies. He is and remains a scourge on the ways of this nation. Have I got your attention as to why I noted him?

You only got my attention at seeing how ignorant you are

This forum is not for politics. Save your bile spewing for Main. Have some respect for others for a change.

Nice posting, Rumi.
We need more like it
Except he had to be childish and bring politics into it which is at odds with the sentiment in the OP

Sadly, politics are brought into many (if not most) of all general/chit-chat threads...in spite of general sentiment.
I responded directly to Rumi's thread topic/OP.

He’s far from the only one that does it. I wish people had more respect but its a reflection of whats going on in our country.
We could use more OPs like this.
