Back in our first Civil War, this nation was pretty isolated by two oceans. Besides that, we had really no entrenched adversaries powerful or dedicated enough to take advantage of our very vulnerable position. That is not true today. The destructive fiasco of civil war would have our enemies ready, willing and able to take over our country or destroy it; that will be inevitable. The "city on a hill" will be in ruins, the "great experiment" ended. Democracy would be laid to rest. Who would be to blame for this? For me, all of us.

Oh My. An interesting perspective. You are correct about opportunistic enemies but wrong about resistance. Our country has many patriots ready and able to fight, with blood spilled, to preserve our way of life. Many of us are veterans trained, ready, and armed. Many of us are quite aware that others want to destroy our country. The left will be destroyed by patriots in short order, They are wimps generally. A civil war between who and whom? Unless conservatives intend on randomly killing people how are they going to identify who they are at war with...and, just what are the cops going to do about it?

For a second I though you made an intelligent statement. Then you went into your usual hating your country by insulting those that don't and put on a uniform to defend it. Looking back in history the patriots were so busy murdering college students antifa had to defeat the British for our independence, right?
