I Think The Right Is Smart Enough To Know The Difference Between Voter Suppression And Fraud...I'll Prove It

Defenses for republican voter suppression make people sound really stupid, it's because they are defending something with mindless rhetoric about protecting against fraud in ways that does not make any sense in the context of doing a thing about fraud.

Here is proof, and the proof comes when there can only be one answer without sounding like a complete and utter fool.

In the overall context, republicans are making it harder for people to vote, which does nothing about fraud if there is any fraud, it only creates a situation where less people will vote. Make people have to stand in line for six or eight hours in any rural districts and see how well that goes over.

So here's my proof people are smart enough to know the difference:
...Infringing on souls to the polls...churches have long provided transportation for church members to polling stations to vote. They have made it a social thing, they have made it a big deal to exercise their right to vote. So republicans decide they need to screw with the hours that polling stations are open on Sundays, there being no other explanation than that it cuts off this easier way for these groups of largely black people to vote.
The super simple question that has one answer is to ask if this cutting voting hours has anything to do with preventing fraud? The question that could get the convoluted and truly ridiculous RW rhetoric would be to ask the leading question, how does thois have anything to do with preventing fraud?
...there is shortening hours
...shortening the days of early voting, which by the way makes the validation and counting harder
...eliminating polling stations in super heavily populated areas when more not less would be the intelligent thing
...reducing drop boxes (instead of creating more) where ballots can be put rather than depend on the mail. This is one of those things that comes down to the registration and verification process of who is eligible to vote and checking their name off. It doesn't matter how many drop boxes you have if fraud is going to be caught when the ballot is cross referenced to the registration rolls. Thousands of fraudulent ballots could be dumped in drop boxes but they will go nowhere as they are validated before being counted.

There is intentionally making it harder to vote, which has nothing to do with improving the eligibility or integrity of who is voting, which is where all the focus is...or improvements could be made in the system of registering voters and checking the integrity of the list.

This country has a really simple basis for being eligible to vote, if you are a US citizen you have the right to vote, it's that simple. Put whatever effort is necessary to make sure that the list of eligible voters is kept up to date, use cross data bank referencing to corroborate and remove names that shouldn't be there for an array of reasons, build the list of eligible voters the same way through corroborating databases.

It is then easy enough to verify that a ballot that is submitted any possible way checks off the list of eligibility, Send a mail in ballot to every single eligible voter, the person has any number of ways to turn it in, all of which will be referenced against the voter list, and checked off to where any attempt for that person's voter status to be used more than once flags the ballots so that fraud can be looked for.

Republicans do not want anything to do with making it easier for more eligible people to vote, that is obvious, and anyone defending voter suppression knows it. We see too many districts that have more democrats registered than republicans, yet they act outraged that dems win, and hold to a fantasy that that is not possible. That is numbers, that is democracy...when you have more people on the other side they will win, and you can't reject that and say that your minority should have won when it didn't. You can't keep doing recounts until you do one that is partisan enough to "find" the results you want.

Republicans need to make it easier to vote, while working on election integrity if they think there ios fraud, which the reality is they do not actually believe that at all. They are setting it up to be able to reject election outcomes they don't like, which is nothing more than a soft coup.

If you are a US citizen you have the right to vote provided you
1). Have ID to prove who you are.
2). Live in the precinct in which you are voting.
3). Are not a prohibited person. (i.e. convicted felon)
4). Bothered to go and register to vote.
The PA legislature requested their electoral votes be recalled after they discovered about 200.000 more votes than they had voters registered. Most of these were mail in ballots.
In GA, the LT Governor refused to let the legislature reconvene to re-examine the ballot certification after irregularities were discovered. This is why the Lt Governor is resigning and the GA Sec/State is in hot water, and the Governor is facing serious problems in his reelection.
In GA, counting of ballots continued after observers were sent home, ostensibly for a break in a water main that never happened. Trump went from winning to losing during this time. How convenient. There are now allegations of mimeographed mail in ballots for Biden, and lots of uncreased mail in ballots for Biden. In GA, Mail in ballots must be folded and placed in the envelope provided to be counted. They will not fit in the envelope unless they are folded twice.
In several states, mail in ballots were unbelievably stacked in favor of Biden/Harris. Far beyond what would be reasonable.
In Colorado and Washington, Mail in ballots seem to work just fine. That is because they were implemented years ago, with plenty of safeguards in slow election years in states with small populations, not thrown together at the last minute in the busiest election in our country's history.

As letter carrier, I have delivered hundreds, or maybe thousands of mail in ballots, and picked up the outgoing ballots.
They are folded when received, and re-folded to be placed in the return envelope.
I dunno, maybe they ironed em?
