A Declaration

Thomas Jefferson came to town the other day and spent his brief time here reviewing the state of affairs in America. He pulled out his old battered copy of our Declaration of Independence and proceeded to edit it to reflect what he saw of today's situation. So I typed it up for him and decided to post it on line for all to read.

He left later on a very saddened man indeed to see his beloved nation is such a state. It is remarkable how closely the old document tracks today's situation with just a few alterations. Of course, I cannot attest to what he observed or what he changed. Here is what he edited:

Declaration II

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume, among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That, to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That, whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.

The history of the present Progressive Movement is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these States. So far just a change from the English King to the Progressive Movement in the United States of America.

They have refused assent to laws the most wholesome and necessary for the public good;

They have forbidden State governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till their assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, they have utterly neglected to attend to them;

They have refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature; a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only;

They have attempted to disrupt, bribe or dissolve representative houses repeatedly, for opposing, with manly firmness, their invasions on the rights of the people;

They have refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the legislative powers, incapable of annihilation, have returned to the people at large for their exercise; the United States remaining in the meantime exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within;

They have endeavored to extend the population of these States; by obstructing the laws for immigration of foreigners; encouraging their migrations into the US, and raising new appropriations of lands and financial support;

They have obstructed the administration of justice by subverting judges throughout the judicial system to their cause, either by bribery, blackmail, or coercion;

They have made judges dependent on their will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries;

They have erected a multitude of new, defacto offices, and sent hither swarms of such unofficial officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance;

They have raised among us, in times of peace, a standing army, without the consent of our legislatures;

They have rendered the military independent of and superior to the civil power;

They have placed the nation into massive debt which was one thing we warned everyone not to do in strong terms;

They have combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, a Manifesto unacknowledged by our laws; giving their assent to their acts of pretended legislation;
They have corrupted our schools and colleges to brainwash our youth in favor of their cause of Marxism;
For supporting bodies of armed troops among us;

For protecting them from punishment for any acts of riot, burning, assault or even murders which they should commit on the inhabitants of these states;

For inhibiting or cutting off our trade with parts of the world, but allowing China trade to increase to our deficit;

For imposing drastic spending and new taxes on us without our consent;

For depriving us, in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury;

They have used the club of racism to cower the public and create divisions in the body politic;

They have used the terrible pandemic coursing our land to shut us up into our homes, to force us to use social distancing and wear masks, thus destroying our social cohesiveness and intercommunications while they act on their plans;

They have pursued the dissolution of the Christian Church, its symbols, and the faith of the people in Christ, and the prohibition of prayer in schools, to their everlasting sinfulness before God;

They have pursued the concept of Climate Change that requires massive expenditures to ameliorate the impact on us, to further the idea of globalization instead of national solidarity. The irony is that Carbon Dioxide is simply not the evil they portray at all! The sun and water in all its forms are dominant and not controllable by man;

For transporting and imprisoning us to be tried for pretended offenses, while knowing we will be acquitted but broken in fortune and spirit;

For altering our State Constitutions, abolishing our most valuable laws, especially ignoring or altering the US Constitution, and altering fundamentally the forms of our governments;

For declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever;

They are at this time transporting armies of supporters and mercenaries here to complete the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of cruelty and perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy of the head of a civilized nation;

They have excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavored to bring on the legions of brainwashed and demented inhabitants that support their cause, whose known rule of warfare is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes, and conditions;

In every stage of these oppressions, we have petitioned for redress, in the most humble terms. Our repeated petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Progressive (i.e. Communist) Movement Leader, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have we been wanting in attentions to our Progressive brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred, to disavow these usurpations, which would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, enemies in war, in peace friends.

We, therefore, the representatives of the United States of America, soon to be in General Congress assembled, and appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the name, and by authority of the good people of these States, solemnly publish and declare, that these United States are, and of right ought to be free and independent States; that they are absolved from all allegiance to the Progressive/Socialist/Communist Movement, and that all political connection with them is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that, as free and independent States, they have full power to levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and to do all other acts and things which independent States may of right do. And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.

So, the plan is to take over the government for the benefit of the people funding the takeover of the government so that there won’t be a government with any teeth to bite the corporate and elite.

You have to understand Milosia is from Cleveland, OH. I'm originally from Cleveland but haven't lived there in forty years. I used to take a pilgrimage back there every year for a Browns game although I stopped several years ago.

My experience of people from Cleveland is that they are stupidest, most obnoxious and sloppy drunks that I've ever seen in my life. I'm pretty sure that they're that way because of their sad and miserable existence. So glad that I moved from that hellhole because I used to be one.

My wife lived in Cleveland for 5 years back in the 60's. She would agree. I was at a convention there in 1966 and I didn't see anything that would make me want to return.

Little One is most definitely confused! A pity, a mind is too precious to lose. Perhaps she cannot decipher the early American English, or for that matter, any English at all. Or, it is simply noise for the sake of making her noise in a thread she doesn't like. Sad! Could she be on the sauce?

Quite the declaration Thomas only refusing to participate with Democrats isn't "without consent." You have consent only you are too childish to use it. You lost the house, then the presidency, and because of Trump and the mouth he could never keep closed--you finally lost the senate. Actions have consequences and because you threw in with a narcissistic bully you went from a position of power to abject weakness and the reason for all the tears running down your cheeks right now.

Well, sorry, but I don't feel sympathy for you. The blather you spew comes from the fantasies and fallacies spun to you constantly by right-wing media, whose purpose isn't truth but to fertilize the propaganda that you've come to believe and love so dear. It's a world where e-vile liberals are to blame for all that is wrong and the crap that comes out of the ass of conservative smells sweeter than any rose ever planted.

Of course, that's not what is but it's what you want, and if Truth can't be what we want then what use is there in hearing it, correct? So, Trump preached the "big lie" and you fell for it 100% and lucky for you--e-vile, now cheating, liberals are responsible for all that ails the world in which you live. So sleep tight Manning, the lies and the division they've sewn are the legacy you leave to your prodigy. A world divided where all that is wrong is because of e-vile cheating liberals who destroyed what otherwise was a beautiful world created in your mind if not reality...amen.

They have refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature; a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only;

They have corrupted our schools and colleges to brainwash our youth in favor of their cause of Marxism;
For supporting bodies of armed troops among us;

For protecting them from punishment for any acts of riot, burning, assault or even murders which they should commit on the inhabitants of these states;

For inhibiting or cutting off our trade with parts of the world, but allowing China trade to increase to our deficit;

For imposing drastic spending and new taxes on us without our consent;

For depriving us, in many cases, of the benefits of trial by jury;

They have used the club of racism to cower the public and create divisions in the body politic;

They have used the terrible pandemic coursing our land to shut us up into our homes, to force us to use social distancing and wear masks, thus destroying our social cohesiveness and intercommunications while they act on their plans;

They have pursued the dissolution of the Christian Church, its symbols, and the faith of the people in Christ, and the prohibition of prayer in schools, to their everlasting sinfulness before God;

They have pursued the concept of Climate Change that requires massive expenditures to ameliorate the impact on us, to further the idea of globalization instead of national solidarity. The irony is that Carbon Dioxide is simply not the evil they portray at all! The sun and water in all its forms are dominant and not controllable by man;

For transporting and imprisoning us to be tried for pretended offenses, while knowing we will be acquitted but broken in fortune and spirit;

For altering our State Constitutions, abolishing our most valuable laws, especially ignoring or altering the US Constitution, and altering fundamentally the forms of our governments;

For declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever;

I believe I have solved it about Little One---Milosia. She is on the order of 14 years old, and hasn't been taught either English or Civics. Hence the garbled language and the lack of understanding.
