Exactly right. Look at the Al Gore, John Kerry and Leo DiCaprio types. All greedy, leftist individuals that fly private airplanes and leave a huge carbon imprint while telling others how not to. That doesn't even include their yachts or heating/cooling their 20,000 square foot homes.

Everything in moderation. Even the occasional smelling of a fart indicates one’s olfactory sense is in working order

My optic nerves were working well in Italy recently. I saw 2 Sophia Loren look alikes and my eyes were even bulging out.

I was about to correct my answer and did some research

Olfaction, or the sense of smell, is the special sense through which smells are perceived. It occurs when an odor binds to a receptor within the nasal cavity, transmitting a signal through the olfactory system. Olfaction has many functions, including detecting hazards, and pheromones, and plays a role in taste. Wikipedia

You are correct about olfaction. Optic nerve impressions are projected to the posterior occipital area of the cranium. The ladies at med school told me my tongue was so long that I could even lick my EOP!!!

We were not here then. If we were not here now the earths atmosphere would be different. We are changing the atmosphere. As a selfish Canadian I relish the fact that Canada is getting warming.

Son, It so pains me to repeat over and over the facts of a GLOBAL event..

Now what you said about hurricanes is correct, but you did not bother to think about the other side of the globe..
While hurricanes were no big thing for most of those several years for north America, the Pacific Typhoons set records.. several times. at least one even affected Alaska.

The erratic weather is a result of climate change.. the imbalance in temperature from the extra heat, changes the air flow patterns over the globe.. that in turn changes the pattern and duration of weather in every part of our world..

The overall problem is that the very rapid change in the balance or the worlds CO2 and other greenhouse gases has been so rapid that the earth, more importantly mankind has not been able to adapt..

Okay, for the sake of argument lets us say everything you just articulated is true. How would a sane and intelligent country go about fighting this Global Warming emergency ? I mean you guys have always said the situation is dire. There is no time to lose.

I say that if the emergency is what you guys say it is, then your solutions are asinine. Two major things you guys are doing that are senseless if you believe what you say you believe.

First your side hates nuclear energy as much as they hate oil. Nuclear energy is the only non fossil fuel source with the potential to replace fossil fuels, but your side continues to block new nuclear plants. If you guys wanted to solve this crisis, nuclear has to be the major replacement of fossil fuels.

Second allowing the population of this country to increase through illegal immigration is begging for Global Warming to kill us all. More Americans, more CO2 emissions, more Global Warming.

Lowering the fossil fuels in Texas is what got Texans in trouble. The wind generated turbines which generate 25% of Texas's energy were frozen solid and were useless. In fact, now, the Texas legislature is wanting Texas to use more fossil fuels for energy and to help with the ineffective New Green Deal.

It's failure to spend the dollars necessary to insulate natural gas lines (or bury therm deeper) and to be prepared for these storms. It's hard to believe Texas generates more power than any other state. But not now. They also aren't connected to the power grid.

Tintop, we do not WANT to be connected to your power grid, because we have very few brown outs and black outs. While most of the rest of the country deals with them on a regular basis, it takes a major, once in 30 years or more, storm to knock us down for a few days. It was made worse because of the massive influx of new Texans, most of whom were not ready or even partially prepared. We had three days of snow and freezing temperatures over Christmas back in the early part of this century. As bad or worse than this one, and we handled it with only a few problems. Should we spend tens of billions of dollars winterizing for a bad snow storm once every 30 to 40 years? Does Alaska mandate every house have air conditioning because sometime in the next fifty years it might hit 95 degrees? Does Colorado hurricane proof it's structures because it is theoretically possible for a Katrina size storm to reach Denver? Let's not be silly. We Texans had a bad few days. In a week or so everything will be back to normal.

People have a very limited understanding of the Enron government created crisis in California that cost the state some $40 Billion...it was pure a unmitigated deregulation disaster. It was government willfully failing to do it's job in a way that was designed to keep what happened from happening. The architects of ERCOT were involved with Enron, the dynamic principles of energy prices influenced by disaster are the same. In a regulated energy grid disasters don't radically ramp up prices as we saw in Enron and now in Texas.

People aren't talking about the financial impact here, people are going to get bills for two or three weeks of power that are ten times and more higher than they are used to, because the Texas ERCOT system has no federal regulations that protect people from just that.

Clueless strikes again. Big overreaching all powerful government is "required" to keep the nasty industrial complex as bay.

SOUNDS like he knows what he's talking about. Sorta like President Biden's policies on immigration, economics, and dealing with Iran. All these speeches sound knowledgeable, but they are built on falsehoods and wrong assumptions, and will inevitably lead to disaster.
