How about just selecting the best people for the job, ignoring the nationality, color, or whether male or female, just their ability to do the job and their willingness to work hard at the job they are hired to do. The problem with that concept is that many people are not well educated enough for the job, and these people believe that they are owed the job anyhow, just to make up for the bad treatment their great great grandfathers had. To some extent that belief is the fault of white people who have grown up believing that the ethnic background of people is more important than their education or desire to work hard to get a better job. According to several studies I have read, the most damaged by this concept are Asian Americans who are usually well educated, hard workers and better at their jobs than any other group but discriminated against because they are not black or brown. Sad isn't it? Why can't the only thing that matters be the skill and integrity of the applicant for the job?

Your response was worthy of a cogent response until you went all racist about those of Asian descent.

I fail to see how stating that Asians have been under represented as compared to what they have been able to do, the intensity of their education and drive that should have been more recognized and reported and should have provided them with more chances toward the educational rewards they have earned. Please explain to me how that is racist. I cannot understand why expecting people of Asian backgrounds to be rewarded according to their accomplishments is being racist.

The only way to cure this is for employers to take a resume no names or photos, don't interview and decide who gets the job on resume alone. How many boss' are gonna do that?

When I interviewed potential employees I always ran an advertisement in the local papers. For some unknown reason to me, 99 percent of respondents were white people. in 7 years of interviewing, changing the wording in my adds every time, I only had 1 black man and 0 Asians interview. I hired the black man and he was one of my best employees I ever hired. He moved up fast in my company because he was a very good worker, who learned fast and was very reliable worker, it had absolutely nothing to do with his skin color. Strange thing was, I always ask interviewees what they thought their work was worth and hour. He told me minimum wage, of the hundreds of workers I interviewed he was the only person who said that, I started his at $12 an hour and it worked great for me. He worked up through the ranks quickly and became a team lead, unlike many other team leads I never had to worry about his jobs they were always right.

Thank you. I always fail to comprehend that pointing out that some cultures are more interested in education for their children, no matter how much work it may take to get there than are other cultures. Having been interested for years in training dogs, I understand how genetics does play a part, some breeds are easier to train to hunt birds, and others are great at herding sheep, while others can easily keep your property rat free. To point that out is not to be biased it is to have common sense. Asian cultures insist that their children learn reading and math, but do not put as much emphasis on shooting baskets, and generations of selecting their mates and guiding their children reflects this, which is not an insult on other cultures who have put emphasis on other things. We are not all born with the same genetic drives nor are we all interested in the same things and to admit that is not racist it is just having common sense.
