Will they consider that a conviction will prevent Trump from running in 2024?
That could be an interesting process for these opportunists to consider.

I don't think a impeachment will go far in the Senate, Trumps best option is to resign. so that he could run again. if he wanted to

We just don't know, my question was more about the thinking of the 2 and maybe more senators who want to be in the WH next time around.
If he resigns do you think President Pence would pardon him?

yes that would be agreed upon before he does but pardons only goes towards federal offences
