YOU ARE CORRECT, we are lied to everyday by the MSM & the Democrat party!!! 2000 deaths were reported today...how many WERE NOT REALLY COVID DEATHS??? That is part of the lies they tell us!!!

We have had the best LEADERSHIP the last 4 years than in more than 20 years, you are just too myopic & bias to see it!!! Biden will certainly lead us down a garden path....straight into Socialism>Communism HELL!

You people must have a committee to put these stories together.. how else could anyone dream up such BS.

Note the word "complex" in the first part of funding..

https://www.aha.org/news/blog/2020-09-03-covid-19s-death-count-real-so-financial-strain-life-saving-hospitals

For the last several months, disturbing and unproven theories have gained traction – mostly on social media – about the death count for COVID-19.

Hospitals and health systems are eligible to receive higher payments for complex COVID-19-related treatment under the CARES Act – that much is true.

But there are several myths out there too. We need to set the record straight.

Hospitals do not receive extra funds when patients die from COVID-19. They are not over-reporting COVID-19 cases. And, they are not making money on treating COVID-19.

The truth is, hospitals and health systems are in their worst financial shape in decades due to the coronavirus. In some cases, the situation is truly dire. An AHA report estimates total losses for our nation’s hospitals and health systems of least $323 billion in 2020. There is no windfall here.

Further, hospitals and health systems adhere to strict coding guidelines, and use of the COVID-19 code for Medicare claims is reserved for confirmed cases. Coding inappropriately can result in criminal penalties and exclusion from the Medicare program altogether.

According to the CDC, there have been as many as 223,000 more deaths this year compared to a typical year. There have been 180,000 deaths due to COVID-19. There is no reasonable explanation for the increased deaths other than the coronavirus.

The professionals of America’s hospitals and health systems are focused on saving lives and treating illnesses – period. They shouldn’t have to waste precious time debunking theories that are offensive and untrue.

Over here they are counting many deaths from other sources as Covid deaths, also the amount of cases & deaths from common flu are EXTREMELY low, probably because they are counting those as Covid also! Hospitals have monetary incentives to report cases as covid, so many are increasing those totals to get paid MORE, helps make up for the charity cases that HAVE to take in US!!

In reality you are incorrect, perhaps that was more of a factor to start with, but to compensate for that, especially in red states, underlying conditions are being listed as the cause of death, such as COPD, pneumonia etc.

Then another big shift of what is considered covid or not is the fact that if a person has not been tested they are not listed as a confirmed covid death, say if they died at home and never got tested.

Once you guys get a rhetorical belief in your heads it never goes away does it? And the bottom line here is that you seem to miss that even if the number is exaggerated it is still a huge number of deaths...can you realize how ridiculous you sound trying to say a number like 250,000 has been exaggerated?

How about if anti maskers and covid deniers avoid hospitals when they come down with it and simply stay at home and make it or die, because someone who denies it and refuses to wear a mask does not have any right to adding to the overloads in hospitals.

But common sense wouldn't hurt...

I'm just stunned...

The numbers are brutal...

Texas just passed California for deaths...

And I figure you get the part where Texas has less people? I was predicting the way red states were going to get hammered months ago, but ignorant people can't understand delayed cause and effect, heck, they don't even get direct cause and effect.

Arizona had it's holy crap moment and put on the brakes and it flattened their spike that would not have slowed down had they not. These are people that are simply too ignorant and blinded by beliefs to recognize the reality that can be seen in state after state. Yet here we are seeing red state after red state who's governors and congress leaders are refusing to let their communities that want to go into preventative restrictions or even mask ordinances take care of their people.

Yeah, yeah. I'm curious about what you're going to post when Trump is being sworn in for his second term and the election fraud has been exposed for what it is.

I doubt it will be "I was wrong."

More likely another four years of the same leftist crap as the economy grows and more and more Americans finally see what kind of destructive socialist garbage the Democrats have been trying to drag us into and how little regard they -- your ilk -- have for the will of the American people.

NO, the virus MUST run it's course! We are being hand-fed nonsense!!! Political propaganda for sure!!! The sooner we do away with the CONTROL-mechanisms of mask-wearing and lockdown BS, the sooner we as a nation will be rid of this disease! We are NOT letting the natural-way to end this virus. All virus mutate with Herd Immunity!

Maybe the vaccines are an answer, hope it isn't just more BS, hard to tell anymore what is TRUTH OR NOT!!!

Do you really understand what run it's course means? 10 million of 300 million have gotten it, 250,000 of those have died...

But more importantly running it's course would overload hospitals by ten times how bad they are now, which increases the fatality because people who are critically ill get no care.

This has to be slowed down until and during the period vaccines can be gotten to the majority of people.

The second part of Rahm Emanuel's "never let a good crisis go to waste" quote was that during a crisis you can get away with doing things you normally can't get away with.

That's exactly what the Democrats have been up to, exploiting the pandemic for everything from economic sabotage to trying to rig an election.

considering the all-trump government. how the hell have those clever Democrats been doing that????

Tell me all 50 governors plotted together after trump refused to take any responsibility..

the majority of republican governors all turned to democrat in order to have 50 states fighting the covid.

Sure, you betcha, that is what it must be..

The US is the 3rd most populated country in the world. And an aggressive testing program - and some concerns on those counts.

About 13 in mortality rate. Case fatality rate is also very low.

Although any death is sad, this is a horrible pandemic - and we are doing pretty good.

Where did you get that idea from that we are doing pretty good?
New York was doing pretty good considering how hard they got hit
California was doing pretty good until the right started a mutiny because they are so opposed to masks
Seattle did pretty good from where they were at

This country is a fail, it is the worst country in the world as pertains to how it is doing, trump and the right wing media set thios country up to fail with sheer rubbish and lies about this virus. We now know trump lied about what he was being told about the virus back in February, and people are too deeply ignorant to believe it.

Your ignorance is irrelevant, there have been articles and the nurse who wrote about it has been on publicly aired interviews.

Huh. I know many nurses. The attorney I work for is married to a nurse. In Illinois, hospitals sat empty and medical staff was laid off. For months. Those that were working hours, when you'd ask them if it was really that bad? They'd respond that they were "getting ready".
Dont get me wrong, I'm thrilled that now we have good therapeutics this thing is manageable. But at the cost of all the lives that were lost cuz proven therapeutics were deemed VERBOTEN by the powers that be, and the tragic policies in new York, Michigan and a few more places of putting patients with active cases in nursing homes with vulnerable populations. And at the cost of our children's educations and lasting financial ruin for so many, particularly small business owners who saw their lifes work crumble, along with so much other destruction.
Just for giggles and grins, look at the papers the fearless Dr. Fauci published in 2005, when he was head of the national institute of medicine, for treating coronaviruses......

And then you realize that elections matter and counties are being held in danger by truly ignorant people as sheriff's departments refuse to enforce even mask orders governors call for.

False. Biden said today, "NO national lockdown". C'mon, man.

Do you even know why he said that or what it means?

It will continue to be up to states, the difference is that the CDC will be making the recommendations they want based on facts, and there will be stronger guidance and facts supporting it, rather than a president that undermines the governors that try to do the right thing.

Yes, the BLM riots and antifa riots were super spreaders. Not to mention the homeless population in California who live in close quarters with poor to no health care and abysmal sanitation. Too bad they all died. Oh, wait, they didn't
