You really do feed dairy cows magnets. Don't understand how the dog got them.

Dairy cows are given magnets. They are pushed down their throats by a long tube with a plunger that pushes the magnet out so they cannot spit it out . The magnets collect bits of metal that cows may swallow. The magnet keeps the metal from puncturing the cows intestine. Pill are also administered with the same kind of tube to make certain the animal swallows the pill. This kind of tube is used on large livestock. Taking care of large livestock was some of the things I learned as I was growing up. We didn't use Vets often because they cost and there wasn't always money for that expense.

Well, I guess you have to do whatever works, and it makes sense. Thanks for explaining!

I was raised on a crop farm .. don't know much about livestock, but learned something new today!
