My darling Proud, there wasn't a Presidential election in 1965. I am afraid that the error is a death knell for your argument.
"Only 3 Democrats have won a Presidential election since 1965 - Carter in 1976, Clinton twice in 1992 and 1996 and Obama twice in 2008 and 2012. 5 Republicans have won since 1965, 1968, 1972, 1980, 1984, 1988, 2000, 2004 and 2016, that is a 5 to 9 advantage for the Republicans still control Governorship of 26 of the 50 states suggesting a stronger electoral machine than the Democratic party." There are SERIOUS issues with the (Republican Article. Eisenhower (Republican) served from 1953 to 1961. In the 1960 Election, Kennedy (Democrat) ran against Nixon. Kennedy, as we know, won.
Kennedy was assassinated on Friday, November 22, 1963 at 12:30 pm. On Air Force One, LB Johnson invoked Article 25, and was sworn in as POTUS.
Barry Goldwater *AUH2O* (Republican) ran against LBJ in 1964, and lost. LBJ was sworn in again at his inauguration on January 20, 1965. There were no general elections in 1965. A Democrat was POTUS from 1961 to 1969.
After LBJ's announcement in 1968 that he would not seek reelection nor would he accept the nomination, Hubert Humphrey (Democrat) lost to Richard Nixon.
Gerald Ford (Republican) finished Nixon's term when Nixon resigned on August 9, 1974. Gerald Ford remained POTUS. In 1976, Ford ran and lost against Jimmy Carter (Democrat).
In 1980, Jimmy Carter ran again, against Ronald Reagan (Republican) and lost. Reagan won in 1984, ran against Walter Mondale.
Bush Sr (Republican) served one term, after winning the 1988 election against Michael Dukakis.
Clinton (Democrat) won the 1992 election in which Bush Sr (Republican) and Ross Perot (who would go on to found the Reform Party.
Clinton served two terms,
