I am amazed you got any positive results. I would venture to say that I, one person, could complain until the cows come home to Walnart, or Target or whatever business about their production end being in China, about them not supporting American made products, and threaten to do business elsewhere, all to no avail. They do not care if I no longer shop there, because my little bit of business is like a fly buzzing an elephant, no bother at all. If I had the power, the USA would end ALL foreign workers, as well as ending ALL immigration for the foreseeable future, and demand all USA based businesses hire ONLY US citizens; I would end the hundreds of billions of dollars we give, every year, year after year, to foreign nations and use that money to start new factories here to make everything we need for our daily lives. I would find Americans knowledgeable about operating factories and help them get the business going with ONLY US citizens and, as soon as the loan is repaid, the ownership of the business would be turned over to the fsctory's employees with only an advisory board. After we had our new factories making jeans and tennis shoes, I would, gleefully, end all such imports from outside the USA. And the tariffs would be extremely high on any jeans and tennis shoes purchased from outside the USA by any company/business/group inside the USA. But all this is just dreaming of the days when America was, more or less, self-sufficient, at least, our necessities for daily living. So, tomorrow, I will begin my first round of shopping for a new automobile while being sad that, instead of helping my country and fellow citizens, I am helping some other country, perhaps one that hates America, and their citizens, who, most likely already have relatives in the USA getting free everything paid for by we American taxpayers.

Did you know BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, and Toyota build their U.S. models here? Does that make them American made? Sure, they employ Americans, pay U.S. taxes, and purchase supplies made in the U.S. You may also want to go with a Jeep, the 2 door Wrangler.

Well, agree with you on the vehicles. My plan there is to buy Ford products and I have done so for decades. Ford is an American company with headquarters in Detroit and factories here in the U.S. as well as Mexico and Canada. Most models are made here in the U.S. by American workers. While some are made in Mexico and Canada, at least they are not made in China. Parts, yeah, some are probably made in China. Not much to be done about that until we start bringing more manufacturing back to the U.S., which I hope would start happening under Trump's second term.

Many everyday items are available online if you search for made in the USA. If I find something to be a necessary item and cannot find it made in the USA, I at least make sure it was made somewhere besides China. Big inventory stores like Walmart and Target, I stay away from. YOu are correct in that the lowly individual customer means nothing to them and you can complain all day long about how all their stuff comes from China and they could care less about you because they sell on a large scale to people who care not a whit about where this stuff comes from. I don't think there will ever be enough people like me who simply refuse to shop there for that reason to make a difference. I am able to find some products ... like pots and pans, sheets, towels, etc. made in the USA at Bed Bath and Beyond, but you have to check the labels because, again, much of their stuff is made in China.

The pet supply store that I complained about started carrying more dog treats, collars, bath products, and toys made in the USA after I complained about it. They also started selling items from some local "doggy bakery," too. Of course, much of their made in China stuff remained, but they did offer more options. Dogfood is another area where it is very important to know not only where it is made but from where the ingredients are sourced. You can find that out by checking out the company websites and calling them directly to ask them specific questions about it.

You just have to search for whatever it is you are looking for specifically. When I needed a new washing machine, I researched it and found one made in the USA and that is the one I purchased.

You won't always be successful in your question for American made products, but in my opinion we should all try.

And I completely agree with you on the medication. I, too, was completely unaware that many of our medications come from china. I am blessed with good health and have little use for most of it, but it is very scary to think that we are dependent on them for antibiotics and other medications that could mean life or death to millions of Americans. How did this happen? We cannot be held hostage by this and need to bring this production back home. Hopefully President Trump will begin bringing about changes to correct this.

Your reponse meets the type of responses I was seeking. All antibiotics are made in China. This situation came about because of over regulation of the pharma industry, as well as most other industries. Regulations cost a lot of money and that increased cost is passed on to consumers. In many cases that increased costs make the price uncompative; so the companes have to go some where else to make a profit. China is the beneficiary of ignornant USA government demostic policy.

One example is that GM has an assenbly plant in China employing 18,000 workers. After Obama bailed ut GM and the united Auto Workers pension plan. GM expanded the plant from 15,000 to 18,000. Another examle of politicians raping American Taxpayers wallets and , ladies to U, your purses.

Yes, I am asking that U boycot made in China, but not the residual countries. I have no problem with other world traiders. The USA benefits. S far as I know China has no auto assembly plants in the USA. Other companies, yes. They usually locate in the southern states due to cheeper costs of labor. Lbor unions are less popular in the South.

The American workers are, also, responsible for companies moving offshore. Labor strikes often, demanding mor and more benefits, retirement, and per hr wages. Another example: When GM went bankruptcy hourly worker on the assembly line qere making $75 per hour. After the bail out they were making $35. Vehicles were cheeply made, both in quality and labor.
