I know several younger people who have been poorly served by our education system. They are lefties and hate Trump because he is Trump. I give my opinion and back it up with facts, but the only thing they believe is orange man bad.

I'm sure you know what I'd like to do for BLM

I frequently go to several restaurants owned by people who are black. But I do not go BECAUSE they are black, I go because they are nice folk and serve good food for reasonable prices. Using or not using a business just because of the color of skin of the owners should be an individual's choice, but it is also racism, and should be cleaned out of the heart. It is befouling to the soul.

Let's be honest, it's easy to hate Trump... He makes it easy...

The issue as I see it is - Who cares about how a person presents themselves??? It's the platforns that matter...

Trump's a loud mouth, arrogant, entitled jerk at times... So what????

As long as he pushes the platforms I support (an I don't just mean lip service) he'll have my support (although sometimes I do shout at him to stop talking when I watch him on TV)...

People (especially the young ones) are driven by emotion.... We're not huge on logic

I agree with you. As an evangelical Christian, I find the President to be personally unlikable and egotistical. He certainly does not present any kind of Christian attitude in his personal life. But as you stated....so what?
He is not being voted in as a preacher or missionary. As long as he is supporting and advancing conservative
policies, he will have my vote. In fact, he already got it. Short lines at the court house for early voting.

Yep... And I've had enough people tell me that I don't present myself as a Christian to give him the benefit of the doubt on that one too... It's between him and God as far as I'm concerned... As it should be...

My preferences right now (it changes) are Barbara Kingsolver and Margaret Atwood. I don't get to read as much as I like, this working from home nonsense. In the last few years, I have learned how to knit lace with spiderwebs on toothpicks.

Both good and certainly well in tune to the “ ways of life.”

I have to read so much for work I’ve lost favor in reading for enjoyment.. Oh occasionally but was a time I read well into the evening getting lost in the story and not enough sleep...

I do stain glass tiffany style lamps or such things just to get away from it all...Its cutting the glass that can make you crazy... If I break three or more pieces while cutting then I step away from the table!!!

I'm not surprised that Trump did better with younger voters than the experts predicted. Trump supporters are notorious for either not answering polls or outright lying to the pollsters. Young conservatives have been attacked, abused, insulted and ridiculed for their conservative beliefs for a long time and as such they have learned it is better to be quiet about who they are supporting.

I find it a bit humorous in that come voting time the landslide speaks volumes and the “ surprise”pleasantly enjoyable.. Those who remained silent spoke when most needed and shut “ them up.”

People that vote "for the man" not the platform seem not to realize that such votes almost guarantee that congress will be split and relatively ineffective: a debate forum not an action forum. The presidency vote is even more likely to wind up with a dud in the WH. Correction: two duds!

Literally right you are and how depressing that is. The platform is everything and the person only the orchestrator... If even that, really...

Example~~ I may not care for the “ person” Trump is but I absolutely support his platform and where he wants to take this country and what he did his first term..

Biden??? Who knows, not even he does!! His “ platform” depends on the day~~ Certainly not any conviction to anything he says...

Absolutely!
That’s what happened with Obama.
Uninformed people chose the “new” guy who happened to be black (half). They chose the lesser of two evils. McCain proved to be evil in the long run.
The second time, Romney, well, there you go again.
Turns out though, that there was NO good choice.
Obama will be the historians “worst” president ever!
Would have been the same title with McCain or Romney.

Grad school spoiled reading for pleasure. I had so much academic stuff to read that reading for pleasure just fell away from me. Now I have to keep my hands busy to get rid of anxiety.

I have a friend who does stained glass. I love the art, but I don't have a lot of patience for the fiddly stuff. I knit beaded lace neckwarmers for my aunts and female cousins. They get a new design every year.

We usually get together on the second Friday of December, but we canceled the party for this year. I think I might do some counted cross stitch for the families for next year.

My wife started knitting years ago as a way to keep her hands busy when we travelled. She has gotten quite good at it. Makes all kinds of gifts for our kids and grandkids, and has been paid by a number of people at work and at church to make them versions of the hats she has made for herself. I hope you have as much fun with it as my Sweetheart has.
