Has become the enemy of the people.
We aren't free if we aren't told the whole truth.

It's all just a misunderstanding: today's mainstream media has merely made an error... They thought the term was treason of the press.

Unfreedom of the Press by Mark Levin. At Amazon, this best seller has over 6000 reader reviews, 92% of which are given 5 stars.

Unfreedom of the Press is not just another book about the press. Levin shows how those entrusted with news reporting today are destroying freedom of the press from within: “not government oppression or suppression,” he writes, but self-censorship, group-think, bias by omission, and passing off opinion, propaganda, pseudo-events, and outright lies as news.

With the depth of historical background for which his books are renowned, Levin takes the reader on a journey through the early American patriot press, which proudly promoted the principles set forth in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, followed by the early decades of the Republic during which newspapers around the young country were open and transparent about their fierce allegiance to one political party or the other.

It was only at the start of the Progressive Era and the twentieth century that the supposed “objectivity of the press” first surfaced, leaving us where we are today: with a partisan party-press overwhelmingly aligned with a political ideology but hypocritically engaged in a massive untruth as to its real nature.

I believe the definition for 'truth' doesn't make room for more than one.

There is truth, anyone's truth, whatever anyone wants truth to be. Then there is The Truth.

I think the phrase, "Freedom from the press", is more apropos nowadays. Their incessant anti-liberty, anti-conservative propaganda is more suited for a Cuban, North Korean or Chinese communist government.

Journalism back when I was young

Who? What? When? Where? How? Why? The first paragraph should answer the first four questions. The Why is speculative and included only if you have the space.

I write on this forum whenever a question catches my attention, using my computer.

I (who) write (what) on this forum (where) whenever a question catches my attention (when) using my computer (how).

(Why) The reasons for different posts vary depending on the subject matter being discussed or the tone or the way the information may be skewed or portrayed. Sometimes I post because I just cannot keep my opinions to myself.

Real journalists should only report the facts. Unfortunately, sensationalism sells!

Your reading comprehension is on what level? The closing sentence sums it up.

In the case of today's iteration of the mainstream media, "anti-Trump no matter what" and doubling as the Propaganda Ministry for the Democratic Party are more the trend than retaining good old fashioned journalistic integrity.

Newsflash, cupcake, Mark Levin knows more about American history and our constitution than you could possibly learn in your entire miserable life. His research is impeccable. And, he footnotes and references all of his sources.

You didn't read his book, but over 6000 Amazon customers did and posted their reviews, 92% of which were Gold Stars.

Either read the book, then comment. Or STFU.

The ethical standards of professional journalism - Accountability, Independence, Honesty, Fairness, Objectivity, Fact based reporting, and DO NO HARM - are almost non-existent in the media today.
