That is a military rifle made by armalite... back in the day... came out as the M16 .. I think.. That got a lot of flack from Marines.. no one liked it.. not so accurate etc.. but the military was moving away from accuracy to the need for "rounds on target" deemed more important by the military mfgs who wanted lots of money spent. Hence more rounds equaled dollars in pockets..

Now days the media and many people use the AR-15 designation for any rifle which looks military.. civilian versions are made by many manufactures, Colt. makes one that is better quality then most, some off shore knock offs are truly bad..

the AK designation is used by the Russians.. after a famous, perhaps most famous in the world designer of their military rifles..

These are all AR-15 for the civilian market..
