As we approach 6 months of 15 days to flatten the curve

As we approach 6 months of 15 days to flatten the curve, I thought I'd do a Top 10 list of the most stupid, ridiculous, self-defeating, and often just senselessly insane coronavirus response actions from the Health Leadership of the United States of America. The only problem is I couldn’t stop at ten and it came to 22 before I had to stop to take out the trash. Feel free to add your own.
---
(22) PolitiFact claiming the label on a box of masks announcing "These masks are not rated for coronavirus" did not actually mean "These masks are not rated for coronavirus."
(21) Johns Hopkins University, Penn State, and the University of Texas Austin publicly claiming the positivity rate can't be used as a measure of community infection, while advising their state governors to announce the positivity rates so the public knows the level of infection in their communities.
(20) Nobody anywhere in positions of leading COVID responses bothering to mention that the primary mitigation for droplet-spread viruses is hand washing.
(19) Pretending the public didn't notice that all the new cases this summer were due to increased testing.
(18) Expecting public mask mandates to prevent infections without any training, fit testing, or bothering to know whether the masks were even rated for coronavirus.
(17) Governments pumping up their infection numbers by checking wastewater to search out COVID.
(16) Schools thinking that staggering in-person classes will prevent infections.
(15) Public health experts claiming a virus can still be contained when it's as infectious as the common cold and has been in the community for 7 months.
(14) Outdoor mask mandates in the middle of summer.
(13) Public health experts claiming herd immunity is unobtainable for an infectious disease.
(12) Politicians saying they will not reopen until there's a vaccine, when a successful coronavirus vaccine has never before been created.
(11) Not reopening schools because kids who don't die from COVID will suddenly die from COVID.
(10) Suspending a kid for going to school in-person when it was his day to do virtual learning.
(9) Mandating masks in restaurants only from the front door to the table.
(8) Johns Hopkins University being unable to correctly work a 6th grade algebra problem, saying that a reproduction ratio of 2.5 means a herd immunity threshold of 1-(1/2.5)*100 = 70% to 80%. That's 60%, folks.
(7) Shutting down public restrooms with the soap and running water, and forcing everybody into filthy port-o-pots.
(6) Requiring servers to wear face shields upside-down so the servers look like bad dogs (Maine).
(5) Pretending a motorcycle accident was caused by COVID (Florida).
(4) Recommendations from health experts to wear face masks during sex (NYC and Canada).
(3) Universities pretending to be surprised when a student tests positive for COVID, and then shutting down the entire school so they can steal students' room and board money.
(2) Oxford University and AstraZeneca almost killing people in their rush to get a vaccine to market before the virus dies out.
(1) Murdering the elderly by forcing COVID patients into nursing homes (NY, NJ, PA, CA, and MI).

Good points in about half of your list. I espically object to your thinking mandiating masks in the summer wss a bad idea. Teensy droplets are just as prevlent as we exhale in the summer as any other time. What kind of yraining do you need to put on a mask.? You get Corona virus from air droplets. Handwashing helps, but masks are more important. Heard immunity means we would have to have over 70percent of us to have had the disease. We are now at 2 percent, 1950,000 deaths.

I disagree with many of your points, but increased testing does not increase the number of people getting infected with Covid. Herd immunity suggests that everyone get the virus and if some people die, that is just too bad. However, like shingles and chicken pox or Hepatitis, the virus can remain in your system and come back later in life with devastating effects. A friend recovered from Covid after a two week hospital stay in May and was just readmitted to the hospital with severe nerve problems related to the virus. No one knows for sure what may happen, but a vaccine is the best bet.

Kids don't get sick from Covid19, they are just able to sperad it to anyone.wastewater is a good way to see how prevelent the disease is in a community. It can tell you if a surge is on the way. A public toilet can spread germs from flushing over 20 feet. I'll take the port a potty.

You believe what you believe because you have scales over your eyes and have fallen for the lies. Get Jesus to open your eyes and the truth will set you free.

Read what I said and reread what you replied. I believe you're a little confused.

If we’re at 2% why wear one!! Also it’s aerosol! Look it up! Wearing a mask outside in the 117 degree heat is plain stupid!!! Herd community gets it thru faster!

If we are now at only 2%, It isn't all that contagious.

I agree. Hospitals are STILL mostly empty. Or no more full than they ever were. And you're right. Has a vaccine for the rhinovirus (common cold) ever been found? NO. And you could certainly call that an ongoing pandemic, because it has been traveling around the world...forever?...and complications can kill vulnerable people.
