Two lawyers were partners

Two lawyers were partners

They were often seen at the courthouse. Then one of them stopped coming in. People asked his partner what was wrong. He told them the other lawyer was very ill. Time passed and one day the lawyer at the courthouse was asked how his partner was doing.

"He's lying at death's door," said the barrister.

"Odd," said the inquirer. "At death's door--and still lying..."
